      • So you mean Sydney to London would still get the discount if we for example decide to fly out on 9th of June?

        • No. The paragraph says "If your favourite AUSTRALIAN DESTINATION…"

Unfortunately this seems to be economy only.

Makes the Economy awards go from terrible value to slightly less terrible value..

If only they would discount premium cabin award seats too!

    • I don't know. It worked for me as a business demo. I put in 11/11-3/12 Syd-Sig and it shows promo discount. Maybe they have exclusions of peak season?

      • Are you sure you had business class selected? It says in the email I received "For 7 days only, we're offering 15% off Classic Award flights* in Economy to all Australian domestic destinations and selected international destinations."

ah ha. it was not a direct flight and the discounted leg was econ. cheers

  • So I just tried this and I didn't see any "Discount" line for my booking from Sydney to Singapore

Can anyone confirm if there is a discount being applied?

I just looked up MEL-JFK for May

    I am getting 118,400 points.

The points calculator says its 128,000 points.

    Doesn't looking like 15% to me….

Then there is the 900 bucks of taxes……

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Air NZ currently having a sale of to New York for 1200 all up?

If the oil prices stay low then at some stage the fuel surcharges are going to have to be reduced. The ACCC have started looking into the issue. So that might be a consideration for A) Qantas to try and lock people in now and B) to potentially hold off booking flights to far into the future.

  • Yet again, Canberra misses out. <sigh>

  • God I hate their website. Trying for a redemption Sydney to Bangkok, and they throw up lots of flights via Hong Kong (Cathay Pacific) and even via Dubai (What's that over 24 hours for a 9 hour direct flight). But as well as these ridiculous options, they charge you a lot more miles. Eg Direct Qantas (IF it was offered) 25,500; Via Hong Kong 54,000 miles.

  • seems like no way to use points to pay for tax (to include the discount)? anyone?
