Just found this email from Scoopon. IMO, most of the colleages or even Seek.com.au's price is around 500. Worth a try if someone wants to utilize his or her weekend in getting few extra bucks.

  There are so many RE agents in Sydney its not even funny. I hang within Asian communities and its safe to say probably 25~30% of the people around me are FT/PT RE Agents… :(

    What do you expect when the only barrier to entry is a couple hundred bucks a 5 minute online 'course'.

    The kids working at maccas are better trained than real estate "professionals".

  I called and spoke with one of the trainers specifically since i was looking to help my brother become an agent

  This is a heavily condensed course over 2 - 3 days to help you receive certification to become an Agent only. you will still need to apply with the right channels to get the license to trade. This is more of a knowledge course only.

  This course also only lets you trade under a licensee and you are required to take part in a 2 week followup(offered by this company) OR CERT4(TAFE) course before you can open up your own real estate agency to hire other agents to sell in the future.

  Good and bad

  TAFE CERT4 is like $2000 in Granville TAFE but if you are under AUS STUDY or Govt payments they said it will only cost $200 after govt rebates, i think you're better off signing up to the TAFE and get the License to open your own agency in the future

    thanks Ninja, I currently have a fulltime job with decent pay (IT) but was interested in learning the ropes as a RE agent. So i guess this might be a deal for me to try??!

      yes, the trainer i spoke to advised me this course will help you get the ropes of the real estate world, then a quick police check to pass and you're set for selling properties under other agent licensee owners.

      The Principal's name was Mr. Rana - 0414 670 002

      and the trainer i spoke to was Raj - 0421 522 546

      I confirmed with Raj, even if the Scoopon deal finishes, you can call Mr. Rana to look at organizing an enrolment through them directly for $299 and skip the scoopon commission take

      (i work for a competing deal a day site company so you can probably even get away with paying them 259 or 279 instead assuming 10-20% commission, heh)
