  • Showing up as $59.98 on DSE website.

    • got to add the hit4ten code.

      tried it and it works.

  • Excellent. Applied the code and it worked like a charm.

    Good presenter as well.

    Thanks

Do note, I have the older R800 with green laser, it doesn't work well on LED TV as the laser doesn't stand out.

  • I find that most of the modern meeting rooms have LED/LCD displays rather than a projector. The green laser on R800 works on both traditional and LED/LCD projection and may be worth the consideration for the extra $$

edit: my R800 works well on LCD/LED monitors

    • Did you try it on LED TVs? My R800 works well on my HP LED monitor but in a HiSense LED TV, you can hardly see the laser pointer at all.

      • I could not check if my customer monitors are lcd or led, so far it has worked on all of them.

  • I wish they still had volume controls.

I also have an older Logitech presenter and it's good to be able to bump up the volume of a video during a talk.

  • Been wanting to get one for presentations, but not at this price. Any suggestions?

I have used a few different types of wireless presenter and I am yet to find one better than the Logitechs. The range on them is pretty impressive and they are nice to hold.
The price at DSE is a very good price for the R700 if you manage to justify the price, but if the OzBargain impulse buy hasn't happened yet, Logitech also make the R400 which doesn't have the screen (so no countdown timer) but I believe is similar in other respects. Currently the R400 is more expensive at the big stores, but you may find it cheaper somewhere.

      • Cheers. Just saw it's 40% off today only

I've used a lot of presenters over the past ten years (I'm a pastor of a church) and the Logitechs seem to be the best. Mine get used 3 or 4 times a week and they do the job.

A lot of other brands heap features into them eg card readers, audio recording, full mouse control etc when all you really want to do is reliably click forward.

That's why I've stuck with Logitech over the past few years.

This is just my experience. I hope this helps.

Sorry been busy doing another post. Cheers :)

  • Yep, green laser is better but at this deal you'll be paying double the price so just go with the red!

There's also blue laser ones available, but they are classes as a weapon in some countries and so hard to get. I've been to conferences where they offer blue ones to speakers presenting to a large auditorium where it would be hard to see red or green from the back.

Also, I was picked up in Perth airport because they found a green laser pointer in my hand luggage. It was awkward and I didn't get a fine or anything, as I was attending a conference and had a requirement for the pointer, but the red one is much safer for travel etc, cause it took me an hour or 2 dealing with the transport cops. In the end Virginia just checked it in (in a tiny cardboard box) as luggage and I got it back at the other end.

However, I do know a chick named Virginia, and she could do with some well-wishers at the moment, so I'll pass on your message anyway haha.
