    Jetstar's Australia Day Sale

None seem to be for Australia day, they are around April - July…

    • +7

      Indeed jv… you're very observant :)

      • +15

Maybe they could call it an Anzac Day sale ?

        • +25

Why? The sale is around Australia Day. That's why it is an Australia Day Sale. It's not difficult.

          @jdr:

I actually agree. Given Australia Day is only 5 days away it is not surprising that the flights are not for that day, but it is the actual reason FOR the sale. That' how i read it as soon as i saw the title. A bit of common sense IMO.

          @allyemil:

I too read it that way. I read it analogous to "Boxing Day Sale", which occurs on Boxing day (+ a few days).

@highwind: You guys know the JV is being facetious don't you? :)

        • @allyemil:

          Exactly :)

        • @clarky:

That's how I took the first comment. But then he had to follow it up with "Maybe they could call it an Anzac Day sale ?"

And then there was an echo :)

    • +1

      Should be ANZAC day sale

      • +22

Do I hear an echo ?

        • +2

Pipped on the post clarky :)

        • +6

@tightarse: Dang! now ill get a dup comment mark against my name

        • @clarky: You'll probably have to go to OzBargain Re-education Camp

        • @Wampus: More like ill have to wait for JV to get all his jokes out of the way as I post the same ones at the same time!

  • None of which is in school holiday period.

You might be able to go on Queen's birthday - 8 June.
or bank holiday, if you are lucky.

You'd almost think they we're encouraging people to travel in less busy periods :p

  • damn…I bought tickets from Tiger last night with the "$16 return" sale, this is much better

  • It will be a good deal if their Website doesnt crash as sometimes happens when they have a genuine sale…

  • Cheers OP - bought return flights syd - Melb for $70 total including all fees etc. Which is pretty good honestly

Thanks OP - was looking up flights last night for a wedding in March and nearly wouldn't be able to go!

  • Australian issued Mastercard debit card

You mean a JetStar issued MasterCard. You can also use Direct Debit.

    • Australian issued Mastercard debit card

      • It's not what their website suggests. It'd be great if it were otherwise. You seem certain, have you done it?

For bookings made in Australian Dollars (AUD), Jetstar waives this Booking and Service Fee for all bookings paid for using Jetstar MasterCard, Jetstar Platinum MasterCard, Jetstar Vouchers, POLi and Direct Deposit.

  • I bought flights for MEL <—> HOB for $150 return during the Queen's Birthday weekend in June. Not a great price but the times are pleasant.

I'm eyeing off MEL <—> ADE for $80 return in August.

    Thanks OP.

  • thanks Op

Just grabbed a couple of tickets for the queens birthday longweekend

I bought some flights to Melb Adelaide return last night, $440 for 4 people including checked luggage. Not too bad considering I paid $175 to fly to maroochydore 1 way a few weeks ago.

  • Extended to 30th Jan.
