ALTRA Running Shoes - up to 60% off (Starting at $60 Including Shipping) @ Injini

90

Was looking for running shoes, and came across ALTRA. Did some research, and their 'claim to fame' is have a wider toe area in the shoe for wider feet (and apparently to make running more comfortable) and a 'low drop' (from heel to toe).

Anyway, it appears that the Australian distributor is having a sale on last years / older models, and there's a good selection of sizes, colours & styles - running, tri, trail and minimalist.

Prices for the sale shoes start from $60. Bonus is that there's free shipping in Aust & NZ, and their returns policy is pretty good - read here.

Prices are cheaper that what I could find on eBay, etc.

  • Been using altras for a few years. I have three pairs now…
They do take getting used to for running, you do need to transition if you are coming from regular running shoes otherwise you may get tight calves, but they are really comfy and light.
I looked at altras when I got plantar facsiitus using $200 new balance shoes. Im not saying they got rid of my PF (I had medical intervention), but I believe they helped me not get it again.
Sizing can be a bit smaller, but they swap them over readily
I have bought mine from Injinji and they have always been helpful and no I dont work for them.

    • What medical intervention did you get to help your PF?
When I was less active nothing seemed to help my PF (orthotics, calf raises, massage, shoes)
However, I found when I started running more regularly with minimalist shoes, my calves strengthened more and helped my PF.

  • Similar to you, orthotic in std shoes, massage, calf roller, golf balls under feet and rest . The podiatrist suggested a flatter shoe, I originally looked at vibrams and then found these. I'm not a barefoot runner and depending on the shoe you get you can go minimalist or more padded.

  • Where are they made?

  • Is there a sizing guide somewhere?
I wear New Balance US 8.5 D and also tried 2e, but they both fit really tight as I have a wide feet.

  • Sale still going and plenty of stock it seems.

Just pulled the trigger, hope they fit!
