Wrapped in foil inside the shrink wrapped sealed package, MI branding on USB cable (sign of fake unit), no Mi logo inside USB port on unit (sign of fake unit), No pass-through charging- (will not charge phone whilst itself if being charged- sign of a fake).

    not happy.

    • +1

did you pay via paypal, as you can submit a claim that item was counterfeit, paypal will ask you to provide pictures, info etc.

      • +2

paid via paypal, and opened dispute.
Ordered on the 4th of Feb, received on the 4th of March?
So much for 15 day shipping… and a month to get a fake.

        • +1

was yours on the same shipment? just trying to gauge how much longer before I receive mine :(

    • +2

    • +3

received mine today too. was packaged as described above. confirmed fake. the security code on the website says its been used for verification 4633 times now lol.
For the people who don't understand mandarin to enter the captcha, if your code is 33114 59144 78434 46553, its fake. I'm assuming it'll all be the same since we ordered from the same place.

      • +2

Received mine today. Confirmed same code as yours 33114 59144 78434 46553. Definitely fake. Waited 1 month for fake. Totally cowshit

Thank you guys for continuously providing update on OZbargain. Also good to know that our customer started receiving their orders and also apologies that you have been subjected to such a frustrating series of events.

Regarding the issue with fake items let us investigate and we will get back to you with an update very soon. We would appreciate if you can send us some pics. to help us with our investigation. Please email it to us on [email protected]

The Product Supplier we have used to source this product had sent us a certificate of authorized re-seller for Genuine Xiaomi products and confirmed it is 100% genuine products. The sample was also genuine. It was not possible for us to check every single product with our limited resource. As it was our first time, what we suspect that the supplier might have deceived us by mixing originals and fake products together.

Please accept our sincere apologies. We are in the market to deal with you again and want returning customer, it wasn't just a once of deception and runaway. We will make every effort to seek a remedy from suppliers if the products turns out to be fake and pass it on to you. We are always on your side. We certainly understand your frustration. we appreciate your business and will do everything we can to keep you happy.

    • dont worry about photos, accept my paypal claim and refund the payment and ill send you the item i recieved as i refuse to use it. (must be reply paid address as i already feel burnt by this deal and will not spend any more time or money)

took 1 month to get here when we were told ~14 days and ended up being a fake. i was going to submit a claim yesterday purely on the basis of it being a full month since it was ordered anyway, but then it turned up being fake.

I appreciate you willing to explain your position through ozbargain, but I will now have to buy elsewhere and wait again so you can appreciate our / my anger.

        Dear Pernie_a

Thanks for your response. We have asked for the pics/prove so that we can verify and get back to our suppliers that they have supplied a fake product. Otherwise They are still claiming all of their products are 100% genuine which is not true as per you/other statement. So need you help to prove them wrong and seek remedy. As promised before we are on your side and will do the right things for our customer. Thanks Auwebshop

        • +2

          I've sent you some pictures.

        • +1

Also sent photos. Product is 100% counterfeit. Please follow up ASAP

      • +1

        Sent photos.

got mine today - ive got a different code (same code on both boxes)
    2214 67419 71704 73460
one battery was dented when I opened the box (box was fine…………..)

either way mines a fake as well according to http://webtrickz.com/how-to-verify-if-a-mi-powerbank-is-orig…

    • +1

Got my 2 battery packs delivered today and they both have the same number as yours. Obviously both are fakes. I have a genuine one from a previous deal so i can compare them. These are the differences as i see them.
The fake has MI branding on the USB cable where the genuine one doesn't.
The real USB cable has a lightning bolt on the micro USB end where the fake doesn't.
The genuine USB cables USB port is black inside and the fake is white.
The case of the battery bank is of a shiny appearance where the genuine is flat like an iPad or MacBook.
All 3 USB ports on the genuine is white and on the fake is black.
There is no passthrough charging with the fake but you can charge devices connected to the real one while it's being charged itself.
The writing on the bottom of the battery (16000 mAh etc.) is shiny on the real one and is plain grey on the fake.

There are other differences but these are the most obvious.

I have now escalated my original dispute to a claim.

    • +1

Yeah I recieved the same code as you
      22194 67419 71704 73460

  • +1

Received my 16000mAh power bank yesterday. Placed my order on 4 Feb.

  • +1

I am happy to pay whatever is considered to be a reasonable price for these devices and get a refund for the remainder rather than seeking a full refund and going through the hassle of returning them.

    • +1

On second thoughts, a full refund is definitely warranted. I just had these things on charge for a few hours using a 12W charger and the blinking lights haven't changed. I have no idea if these things are taking any charge. They'll probably be paperweights when the charge runs out.

  • Received mine yesterday, same code as previous people 2214 67419 71704 73460! and it looks clearly a fake, especially when compared to my original one.

    Will be starting a claim

  • +1

    Fake!

Comparison with a genuine Xiaomi product :

    photo1

    photo2

Very disappointed to be burned by the seller.
Did they check the items they were selling before ordering? I doubt it

    • +1

      Have escalated the claim.
Will destroy this item once requested from paypal.
It looks dodgy, I wouldn't put it near family or electronics.

After reading this thread its likely that they did get a genuine sample. what a horrible vendor.

      :-/

    • Let's keep our shirts on and wait for the sellers response to all this. It seems like it's more a case of the seller getting burnt by his supplier rather than he himself being deceptive.
Here is the email i received when asking for a partial refund:

      Hi Mike

We ask for the suppliers confirmation. Regardless we trust you and all our customers. we will issue 100% refund and with no ques. ask. We are in the process of finalizing the refund. Soon you will get an update.

      Thanks

      Auwebshop

      • +2

Sounds fair, Im happy to give an additional month of waiting for this to resolve.

      • +1

I thought that it may have been the suppliers, but reading the earlier response to Andy asking him to confirm if he could verify the product using the code before anyone had received the item makes me suspicious that they were unaware.

Just curious, where you guys are located?
I'm in Sydney metro and still hasn't receive my order…

      Brisbane. Received. but Fake one.

  • +2

submitted paypal claim. how/when am i able to get my refund back?

  • +1

    Fake. Code:22194………….73460

  • +3

I received a fake one too. I did a test and compared it with the genuine one I received from Mushtato. The test results are shocking! (ha)

Out of the box, I did a full charge and tested them both, then fully charged them again and did a second test.

At 2A, the genuine one measured out at 10.475Ah. I expect the third test to be slightly higher.
The fake one measured out at 0.511Ah.

It could just be the poor boost circuitry not being able to handle a 2A load. I'm going to repeat the test at 1.5A on the fake one once it completes recharging.

    Graph here
PDF with a bit more detail

  • I finally received my fake powerbank. Very dissapointed.
The quality is shocking, and the safety is questionable as other people has mentioned.
    Paypal claim submitted…

  • +1

Case closed. Refund has been issued. Thanks Auwebshop for a quick resolution.

    • How did you get a refund so Quick, did you submit a PayPal Claim? I asked for a Full refund on their site.

      • +1

Yes. I submitted a claim via PayPal for a full refund. We're not required to send the devices back either. Bonus!

    • +1

I'm still waiting for my quick resolution

      • I am waiting for a happy ending :)

        • I'm waiting for them to reply to my Paypal dispute as well, maybe I need to escalate it to a claim?

Since their communication on this thread is good, I'll give them more time to respond to the dispute before escalating it to a claim…

        • +2

@ben1680: I wonder what's happening on their end. I'm sure they got screwed by their supplier - there's not much point in selling fake items on purpose when everyone pays via credit card or Paypal, is there?

If the supplier is a fly-by-night operation who has now vanished, auwebshop could be out by thousands of dollars. Ahh, the perils of doing business in China!

  • I was concerned of the fire hazard of a Non Genuine Item. I dont want my house burning down with this cheap crap. I lodged a Paypal claim and if the seller is serious will except, as we all bought in good faith. The seller has not responded to me asking for a refund on their site. I have no other option. The item was Advertized as Genuine.

  • +1

Got mine today, the foil wrapping was cake on how fake it was.
Escalated my paypal case to a dispute, curious to see how it unfolds as its my first time.

    • You should not have any Problem. So many others having the same claim on same item/with the same seller.

  • Finally arrived, picked up mine not too long ago.

Definitely a fake without even checking the xiao mi website.

I got the product number: 837300088056.

As per the other posters, it came wrapped in aluminium foil… (dodgy).

Should everyone be lodging a paypal claim or should we wait for auwebshop to get back to us?

    • I would just lodge a claim, I tried to contact auwebshop for a full refund and have not yet had a reply.

  • I am still waiting for the shipment, order placed on 4-Feb.. where are u AuWebshop

  • I haven't received my item yet, order placed on 4-Feb. Shouldn't we ban AuWebShop, also so many complains of fake products.

    • The rep is already in the penalty box actually.

      • auwebshop is not in the penalty box, but auwebshop2 was banned as a duplicate account. Rep has been commenting in this thread from the original acccount.

    Dear customer,

You would be happy to know that we will provide you a full refund 'no question asked' as you are not satisfied with your purchase. You might already be aware that we have fought back for supplying us fake products and being deceptive which is still unresolved. But we won't keep you waiting till this gets resolved and process this refund without any procrastination. Please enjoy the product as a gift from us and support us in our future deals.

We have already process the 1st round of refund. Soon the rest will be processed,

    Apologies for any inconvenience.

    Best Regards,
    Auwebshop Team

    • Wouldn't this Item be a fire Hazard, my two are going in the bin. It would not have any safety built in/and could explode in Australian heat. I have been refunded. Thank you AuWebShop

      • Thanks for the refund, Rep.
I will throw away the product as well since the build quality is horrific.
Not worth risking putting our home on fire or getting electrocuted during charging…

  • Got my refund…..thanks rep

So I probably shouldn't take this on a plane to Europe next week should I AuWebShop? Or can you guarantee that it won't do anything in the hand luggage compartment ?
I don't suppose you could send me a genuine one by the end of next week to fix things up by any chance could you?

  • I would also like to say that my order of Xiaomi Piston earphones have also yet to arrive. It has been well over a month and I would like to know the whereabouts of my order.

    • Please let us know your order number. Send us an email at [email protected]

      Thanks
      Auwebshop

  • I missed out… can I still get from this price?

  • Extremely disappointing. Over a month for the shipping. Not only that the product from AuWebShop is fake. My unit doesn't even charge either. $32 paperweight. It just flashes. Unfortunately this has turned me off doing business with them ever again. Good luck to everyone who bought this.
