Grabbed one. Hopefully will be powerful enough to run a few apps and youtube. That's all I want it for.

  • How does this compare with the 10" / dual core 1.5Ghz / 1GB RAM / 8GB on-board Laser for $44 from DSE?

The Laser has a newer version of Android and a slightly bigger, but lower resolution screen.

The Amicroe has a HDMI port and Bluetooth support.

Same CPU, same amount of RAM and storage.

        Cheers mate ;)

According to the user manual, the Laser has HDMI out?

      • how u know it's the same CPU for Laser? I couldn't find the info

        • An educated guess :P

The manual mentions 'Rock Chip system updates' and the only dual core Rockchip SoC (for tablets) that can run at 1.5ghz (or higher) is the RK3066.

        • @kamoi:

  • Seems like a deal. Any idea on battery life?

    • battery life is ok, but it has charging plug issue

performance is acceptable, screen is acceptable (compare to some pendo)

  • anyone recommend a cheap 8" tablet with quad core?

  • or even a good and cheap 7" tablet with dual or quad core 1.5GHz?

  • I have one. It's ok. Battery life for watching movies I over 3 hours. Value for money is the dose one.

  • I checked HV Oxley and their site said it was there and two other locations. Though I went there any they didn't have any.
I've ordered online yesterday around 13:00 and still haven't been notified if they have one.
Oh well the deal is over and the price is back to $297!
For a square screen there are better tablets for $297.
I'll use mine for milight app, few other apps, like andriod over apple.
