Great deal for your glovebox or bag!

But on your keyring at 13.8cm tall, they're kiddingl! It should say 'handy key ring for those who like bricks on their keys'

    • +1

I think you will find that 13.8cm is the package dimensions, not the device itself, which should be less than 10cm….still too big for a keyring!

  • +2

Hmm good idea but hardly keyring material, I hope they can make one just like 1000mAh for emergency charge only. 1000mAh I reckon should be about the size of a normal USB drive?

    • +1

Yeah would be nice for a very small one and would be happy with a half charge, for emergencies

They are also $10 at Woollworths. (2cents more). Not on sale - normal price.

    • All woolies? Which one did you see it in?

Much cheaper to buy similar on eBay

Ordered. Let's see how Dick manages to stuff up my order and screw me around for over a month this time.

i made this from old laptop battery 18650 and buy the enclosure for $2 on ebay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-USB-LED-Power-Bank-Charger-Pa…?)

    works pretty well :)

    • +1

How difficult is it to do this? I have an old spare laptop with broken display so if I can salvage parts of the battery to make my own power bank it'll be pretty awesome :) how do you take the 18650 out of the laptop battery?

      • +2

hey, it's pretty easy, depending on the type of battery you have (some enclosure have just clips you can open with flathead screwdriver) some glued together.

        follow this instructables - http://www.instructables.com/id/Salvage-Lithium-Ion-Batterie…

mine unfortunately was glued slightly but i have dremel rotary tools that made it easier. you'll get about 4-6 or more 18650 out of it.

        just proceed with caution :)

  • If you buy a phone with a removable battery then you don't have to worry about these things.

    • I would have thought the same.. I have a Note 3, but i dont find swapping batteries as convenient. I dont know why but I would prefer a powerbank.. (I think.. havent got one yet)

I ran out of charge and popped in to get one the other day; they come fully-charged, handy. :) Cute colours, too..

Coles is selling this for $5 dollars, in the 'Back to school' section.

      I am such an idiot!

In my post above where I said "They are also $10 at Woollworths. (2cents more). Not on sale - normal price." It was at the large Coles store in Bondi Junction - NOT Woolworth's. And, yes, now on sale.

They are scanning at $2.50 now at Coles. Also they are at/ near the Service Counter at the Bondi Junction Coles in Westfield. The other 2200mAh one on clearance at $7.50 (slim metal tube) is scanning at $3.75.

  • This recall is bit of a concern as well
