  • Good deal,
    Cheers

  • lacie sold out??

  • Had to google who the hell Neil Poulton is as this guy must be a genius to have gotten away with being paid for designing a rectangular box….!!

Still prefer cheap bare drives and E-Sata docks over these flashy things that only have USB connectivity.

    • It's not JUST a rectangular box, it's a shiny rectangular box with a light.

    • they should change the name to Neil Poultry

  • bought one, thanks! :)

  • Hey Danilochan,
    http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_3430_SanDisk_microSDHC_8G…
what class are these sandisk microsd's?

    • Updated -

Checked with our warehouse, it's Class 2

      • I paid for my order with BPAY but it still hasn't registered as paid, Any ideas?

        • BPay will take 1 working day to process payment and the cut off time is 4pm everyday. (i.e. if the payment made after 5pm yesterday, the payment confirmation will be tomorrow)

          • @danilochan: I paid on Wednesday night and my order still hasn't changed from 'unpaid'. Could you look at your Whirlpool account - I sent you a WHIM.

  • just bought the 2.5" 500GB!
Any idea on how long it'll take to arrive?

    • Normally within 3 working days in metro area

  • For what would cost me $120 (inc postage) for the external 1tb I'm really tempted..
Having just payed $200 for a monitor though I'm not sure what to do.. Gonna have to ponder this.. =[

  • my old man wants another 1TB, i've only been holding out so i can get a good price for one. this is a great price, thanks a lot!

  • These 1TB drives were $99 at MSY up until yesterday, but have gone back up to $125. That makes this a good deal, if you can organise pick-up.

Only notes i would give re-experience with drive:
    - Have owned 3 of these so far, all 1tb models. Previous drives inside were 2 x Hitachi & 1 Samsung. The Samsung one died after a few months, but the other two still run fine. The two remaining one's are both easily the loudest and hottest drives i have ever owned & along with the Sammy, seem to have issues turning on/off (Take ages to turn on and are loud with clicking noises & sometimes they just wont power down without having to be unplugged from the wall). Owners over at a few other IT forums seem to have similar experiences, across the board.

    Overall Pro's:
Cheap ($99 for an external 1tb is the best your gonna find, today), no hassles getting a replacement for the dead drive, some people find the design sexah!

    Con's:
Loud, iffy start up & turn off, no idea at first about what hard drive actually in the box, casing has poor airflow compared to Seasgate & WD enclosures.

  • Anyone having trouble with the 2.5" 500Gb my computer wont detect the 3 that i brought. bad batch???

  • there is an incompatibility issue between the hdd and the enclosure unit according to shoppingsqaure .
Fill out RA form and send back
