Has anyone had experience with this one ink use/cost? - the last similar Canon I had needed more fibre in its ink :-/ [ dried out after ~ 4 months light use]

I bought mine in August 2014. Still ink still fine (last print was 20 half pages in colour, yesterday).

Note: I mainly use it to scan, which is why the ink isn't finished yet.

Ty for that - was just playing with a 630 that had been skulking for 2 years as a found object - I'd not given it a fair go:-). It had been sulking about all the colour tanks being empty, but still managed a decent " checkable list" print of the black tank following 2 years of dusty neglect:-)

I don't have the CD tray for it , so if this one has the same brilliant set of features, that plus wi-fi makes it a nice find, especially as there is a calidad pack - I got a shock when I saw Officeworks had $360 on the official Canon bulk pack, then noticed that was for 3. $133 for all tanks is not too bad.

The CD tray fits in the bottom of a tray, that slots inside the printer, so it's not lost any more :)

        • @foundit:
Not this one - it was scavenged of the feral flea market ^W^W^Whard rubbish for use as a scanner - and a free light show if I leave the top off and the ink cartridges exposed…:-)

        • Later edit - $124 for the ink pack at OW - the Calidad kit isn't in the store catalogues or shelves yet[though they have recently listed one] but if your game to refill, KMart has the inks for $18 a set.

          @terrys:
Sorry Terrys, I mean, the one in the deal, has a nice place to store the CD tray :)

  • Thx, ordered, paid and will pick up on the way home from work, retires my 4 year old canon i bought for the same price

  • not sure about this new model of pixma, but my 2/3 year old pixma is terrible, always takes the paper wrong which ends up printing lopsided and whatnots. been looking for a new printer these days

  • Cant see any information about the "$20 Store credit when you pick Up".

    • They had a link to it this morning on the product page. I think they've taken it down.

Link to $20 store credit terms & conditions

      • Ah, I see. Thanks for the link.

At Marion it was the credit if you'd ordered on-line with in-store pick-up, or a bucket of 40 chup-a-chups. I tried to haggle for both, but no dice. At 50 cents a chup-a-chup it was a tough call…

… so, you went with diabetes?

        • +3

No, I plan to sell them outside the girls school tomorrow - what could possibly go wrong? :-)

        • @terrys: I spoke to customer service today and they said the credit should arrive via email without you having to do anything else, so you might just end up with both this and the Chupa Chups (or more, depending on how much you sold them for before you got picked up by the police!!)

        • @shmahoo:
That would be nice - It's made me glad I gave my real address, however i bought in store, not on-line so no e-mail involved. The Canon cash-back lottery is still valid, so $15 there but you need to upload your receipt. I was a bit bemused that they couldn't handle a TIFF file…

  • Bought this about 12 months ago with the $50 Cannon Cashback offer, retailed at Harvey Norman for $225 but had them match OW @ $149. So paid the same for it.

Great printer for the price, often has a little trouble printing over wifi, but usually fixes itself.

Buy 3rd party ink, cannon ink is expensive & no better in quality.

  • I see everyone gets an email about this Printer…..

Great deal, thanks op,printer died last week so excellent timing! Bargain for (at most $69 with canon cashback! Plus got bonus bucket of chupa chips!! :D

  • +2

    I didn't get offered any chup-a-chups. I won $15 from Canon.

    • +2

that sucks (just without the flavour!)
I'm picking mine up tomorrow morning so I'll post what the cash back luck was then)

      • +1

The terms and conditions for the $20 store credit says you must pick it up during the promotion period which ends today.

        • I spoke to Good Guys Customer Service (based in Australia!) and they said it would be fine to pick up tomorrow, as the conditions also state that purchases can be made up until 11.59pm tonight. He repeated that you just have to complete the purchase tonight and select "Pick Up" as the method of collecting the goods
