Yatango = Bad Shopping Experience

Yatango Shopping Review - URL: yatango.com.au/shopping

I like to WARN everyone that please stay away from Yatango Shopping. So far I understood, they do not keep any item in stock at all so whenever you submit an order then they will actually go start looking for the item while they keep your money in a high interest account to make money out of money or pay off current debts (I guess). Their customer service (chat/email) will always act dumb whenever you will ask if stock of an item exist or not. They will try their best to delay from making you cancel an order and ask for refund. NEVER EVER BUY ITEM FROM YATANGO.

Please feel free to share your BAD experience.

i bought once, and it was good. around a week delivery time. so yeah, no shop is perfect.

  • I'd never heard of Yatango. I'm gonna check it out now.

    • I thought Yatango was that TV watching app thing that was plugged on free to air last year?

  • FYI…all the stock is International Stock coming from Hong Kong/China. Not sure how warranty on devices would work.

  • yatango is just rebranded mobicity

    • yes realised that after paying via PayPal

  • I got my Note 4 from there, don't have any complaints.

  • I just had exactly the same bad experience as a topic starter. I cancel my order before they sent the item, and do not want to refund my money now. Firstly they claimed that they need to check if the order was not sent, now they promised to refund, but they did not. I made a claim through PayPal, but it take very long time. STAY AWAY from this Yatango/MobilCity.

Piece of advice, if you realize that you want to cancel within 2-3 days, talk to your bank first, and ask to cancel the transaction. Then you have your money back immediately. Do not go through PayPal.

  • STAY AWAY! I just have a very bad experience with them. They keep promising to ship my item, but never happened. As soon as I lodge a Paypal dispute, they sent me a Credit memo (basically a refund), but the amount LESS than I paid (about $6 difference). Chatted with the customer service several times which basically doing nothing but apologised and blamed the supplier. TOTALLY WASTE OF TIME!

Thanks all for the inputs, keep them coming if you have more.

  • I've just ordered a SIM through them and will be buying a Galaxy S5 once I activate it and my 2500 points get applied to my account

Hi guys, wanted to add my experience about Yatango.

My experience was and is absolutely Terrible!!

Ordered an LG phone which said "Ships in 5 – 7 Days". After 3 weeks I engaged their sales team on the livechat help. They told me the phone was en route to the warehouse where it will be shipped to me from there within a week or so.
Another 2 weeks, I spoke with them again they told me the Phone was not available and to choose another similar available model. So I did. 3 weeks go by…..still no phone. I emailed them and they informed me THAT model was not available but the model I originally ordered was. So I proceeded to change my order again.
3 weeks on and I keep getting the same response from email enquiries. "Your phone will be shipped this week".
Over 2.5 months or waiting for a phone that I have paid for.
Have requested a full refund….see if they grant it.

    Do NOT use this company!!

    Hi All,

I wished I'd come across this post prior to placing an order with Yatango last month.

I purchased a Samsung S6 64GB back on 10th September. The website clearly stated item was available and ships in 4-6 days. After 11 days and no signs of my phone, I emailed them to enquire on an ETA. To their credit I received a response within 2hours and was advised:

"The fulfillment generally takes at least 5-7 business days for handling. Then delivery takes 2-5 business days on top of this, depending upon the carrier and delivery location."

There was no mention of the above on either the website or the order summary. Nevertheless I wasn't in any hurry so I didn't think too much of it. After another week and still no signs from my phone (and the online order status was still showing 'in fulfillment stage') I made another enquiry this time using the real time chat on their website. Again response from customer service was prompt and polite with the rep apologising for the delay and promising to follow up with their warehouse and get back to me via email that day.

Unfortunately I did not receive any update or follow up that day. The next day I sent another email:

    "Hi There,
I've yet to receive my phone and have not received any update. I was promised a follow up via email when i made an enquiry via online chat with your representative XXXX yesterday but there has been no response so far.
Could someone please escalate this order and provide me with an ETA when it will arrive. It's disappointing that the Yatango website continues to advertise 4-6 days shipping for my particular phone when it has now been 19 days since I placed the order.
If an accurate and reasonable cannot be provided I ask that a refund be applied at once.
Failing this I will have no choice but to report this behaviour to the Department of Fair Trading.
    Regards,
    XXXX"

I received a response the next day and was advised:

"I apologise for the inconvenience about your order.
However, there is a shipping delay.
We have escalated this to our warehouse team.
As of the moment, we are still waiting for a new ETA.
Once we receive a reply from them we will let you know right away.
Rest assured, they are doing their best to sort this out for you as soon as possible."

My reply on the same day:

    "Hi XXXX,
    Thanks for your reply.
I would like to cancel this order due to the uncertainty of an ETA.
Please organise a refund asap and let me know when this has been done.
    Kind regards,
    XXXX."

After waiting another day and no response, I decided to report this to the department of fair trading. Whilst filling out the complaint form it was required to obtain the company's ABN/ACN. I went on the Yatango website looking for this info and whilst on the website I saw a link to their Twitter feed. I thought I'd try and raise my concerns there one last time prior to reporting this issue to the department of fair trading. Low and behold, I received a twitter response within 30mins and received a 'credit note' to my email that same day.

edit: I freaked out when I saw Scotty's post on Yatango Mobile going into administration https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/214212 as I had yet to receive my refund.

Fortunately after another 8 days the refund appeared on my online credit card statement, so after approximately one month I can finally put this to rest.

As per other's warnings - Do NOT us this company!!

It ain't all bad though, because of this delay I was fortunate enough to be able to get a the JB HiFi S6 Edge phone for $688. My thanks to @dosada and OzBargain :)

same experience - absolutely woeful company…….am yet to receive my refund………..took 6 weeks for them to tell me they "probably couldn't tell me how long it will take to get my phone" - so requested refund. I've sent a complaint to fair trading, I'll try Twitter lol

Same experience, same lies about delays from system issues and they'll ship asap. now I heard they are now going into Administration. How do I get my money back :(??

I hope you have paid using PayPal then lodge a dispute via PayPal.

Unfortunately not zaptech-au, paid with card which I know is going to be more difficult to get a refund… lesson learnt I guess :(

Hi everyone, please make sure you lodge a complaint to the Department of Fair Trading in your state (eg. I lodged mine to the dept in Qld: http://www.fairtrading.qld.gov.au/lodge-your-complaint). The more complaints they get, the better chance these crooks can be immediately shutdown and have some hope of getting our money back.

Their website is still well and truly taking orders even though their meant to be in voluntary administration: http://www.smartcompany.com.au/finance/48867-further-yatango…
