Woolworths Everyday Rewards Easter 2015 Gift Card Offer

It's similar to this deal back in 2013:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/105468

It's asking me to spend $135 for $40 gift card. Cycling through the URL images from the email, it ranges from :

S_C4EInvite_Hero_20.gif to S_C4EInvite_Hero_100.gif

So they are offering anywhere from $20 - $100 gift card for some amount of spend. It seems like it will be around 10% "gift card" back, so the spend levels are most likely $70, $100, $135, $175, $300 and $350 per week.

Now I don't think I can spend $135 per week (which is $35 per week more than what I spent each week for 3 weeks due to their other targeted offer of spend $100 get instant $15 back), so I probably won't be chasing this offer, unless EFTPOS or Visa gift cards count towards this. Anyone else seem to have EDR making them try to spend more and more at their store each week?

Promotion runs from 16 February 2015 to 8 March 2015. Registered Everyday Rewards Members must sign up to participate in the Promotion by 18 February 2015. Spend $XXX or more qualifying spend at participating Woolworths supermarkets or Woolworths Online and scan your registered Everyday Rewards card in each of the three designated weeks of the promotion to receive your $YYY Cash For Easter Gift Card. *Qualifying amount can be spent in one or multiple transactions, and excludes liquor, smoking/tobacco products, gift cards and selected services. Promotion is not applicable in Woolworths supermarkets in Tasmania, Erskineville NSW, Woolloomooloo NSW, Hamilton Harbour QLD, Burleigh Heads North QLD and Southern Cross Station VIC. The $YYY Cash for Easter Gift Card expires on 30/06/2015 and can be redeemed at Woolworths supermarkets or Woolworths Online.

  • Mine is $100 spend per week for $30. Not sure if we will spend that much.

    • Got the same offer, not gonna spend that much.

  • I must be a high roller because mine is $200/week for $60

  • A number of the family got different offers

    $30 for 3X$50
    $100 for 3X$100
    $25 for 3X$75

    • Those two last ones aren't too bad, they're 33% back.

      • Not really the last one,,,

        $25 for 225 (3X75)

        • Right.. my bad, misread.

  • They sent me the "never gonna happen" offer: Spend $350* or more at Woolworths supermarkets each week for the 3 weeks below….$75 voucher.

  • Everyone gets a different deal. Mine is $50 for 3x$50.

    • That's an awesome deal. You could simply buy a $50 Opal recharge each week if you use public transport. Sadly I got $25 gift card for 3x$75 spent offer :(

  • $50 for 3x$170… Never going to happen.

  • $75 for 3x$250 … As if.

I am really really sick of Woolworths baiting the subject line of their emails.

I got a Happy birthday offer. Spend $200 get 10%. I find it kinda offensive these companies sending lowball email offers for a birthday. If they wanna send a gift fine. If they wanna send marketing don't demean my birthday by using it.

Really company birthday offers can be a downer. Everyone knows store staff can treat people with a voucher like crap. having it happen on your birthday is nasty. Subway was my main offender.

    • +4

      Happy Birthday btw!

    • +1

Subway makes it too hard. You have to activate the deal and specify which outlet you'd be going to and it expires within 24h. Can't be bothered anymore.

  • I have the following:-

    spend $50 x 3 get $20 and
    spend $100 x 3 get $50 I do not spend anyway near $100

  • I got the same offer as the OP and I deleted it without activation of the offer. It's beyond our normal spend. Last week I got the offer of spend $50 and get $10. I got offered that twice and took it both times. That's the thing with these loyalty schemes, they try to up your spend. Your role is to exploit them without being done over yourself. Ignore the ones designed to "stretch" you into a bigger than normal spend.

    • +1

Yep, I agree 100% with your analysis. To beat them at their own game, I signed the whole family to both FB and EDR and then usually split the bill across a couple of cards to keep the spend low. We work Coles for a while, and then switch to Woolies. When with Coles we use the $5 TellColes. Must have saved 100's by now, but what a pita.

      Got -
      3x$100 get $50
      3x$135 get $40
      can't remember the others

Also, remember that getting a voucher after 3 shops means they have you in their store 4x, so a $40 voucher is only saving $10 per shop.

      • ha ha, I have my wife, my daughter in NZ, and my previous dog, all signed up. It gives me a good reservoir of linked cards. I use the same email for all and see all the offers for each of the 4 cards.

        • One of my cards just got an offer of $50 for 3 spends of $50. That is quite achievable without distorting my buying patterns and I can still have money left over to go to Aldi.

        • So do you link your FB and EDR cards to the main one?

        • @bashar20: Yes I do

  • +1

You can make the EDR system a "bit anxious" by blocking automatic download of images for email from that source. Since they put the offer in the email Subject line you don't need the images to see the offer. If you do this they can't tell if you have read the EDR email and they may resend with a better offer. Another trick is to read but not Activate the offer. They often chase you up then. Play the game by your rules.

  • 30 back for 3X 50

    opal recharge here I come

  • Spend $100 each week for 3 weeks for $30

  • I keep getting similar offers. They want me to go there more often, and buy more than normal. There is a reason why I spend what I do at Woolworths, ALDI. It's going to take a fairly hefty offer to get me to do the full shop at woolworths again, aside from the dollar savings I much prefer the ALDI model of only a couple of different variations of a product.

  • what are some good non perisable items to buy?

Giftcards and alchol are not allowed for this offer.

    • ummm, what else is there?

  • Mine was 3x$350 for a $75 card … i think not no way i spend $350/week at woolies

    • a big family dont even need to spend that much.

  • Mine was $75 x 3 for $25 gift card.
I prefer coles offers even though its only $2-$4 worth of points, at least they are achievable at $40-$50.

But i do like the woolies 14c fuel discount offer they sent me as a thank you. No spend required.

  • $50 x 3 to get $30 back.

  • Just got a $10 for $50 spend "Red Spot specials". Hope I get this on a few cards so $150 spend can be split on 3 cards so $30 in vouchers.
Someday the supermarkets will realise why the queue's are longer as we often split the bill to maximise savings. Checkouts are very accomodating so they must get it all the time? Who else splits their bills across multiple EDR/FB cards?

  • 3 x $50 to get $15 back.

  • Got 2 cards in the family.

The one we regularly use has a "$30 by spending $100 x 3" (zzz)
The one we don't use until a good offer came up has "$100 by spending $100 x 3" (yay!)

    Go figure..

    • Can you link them both to the same QFF account or do you sacrifice the QFF points on the one with the "good" offer?

  • +2

I got don't spend anything here go straight to Aldi

  • Just found out with Woolies EDR in a single shop you can earn a voucher say $10 for spending $50, split there and pay, then use the $10 off the rest of your shop. Also used a $20 voucher from a previous shop on a different EDR card. $30 saved for $120 shopping. Not bad. Must nearly be time to swap to Coles again.

  • Hi everyone, I just got off a live chat with Nia of Woolworths and they've confirmed that Opal and mobile recharges DO NOT qualify for this promotion as they are classified as "selected services" as per their T&C.

    • I topped up Opal and on bottom of the receipt it said "you've qualified for this week". Which one is it?

  • +1

Mine says "Simply spend $0* or more this week at Woolworths supermarkets to be on track to earn your $0 Cash for Easter Gift Card."

    Doesn't seem very festive :/

    • Yeah got the same offer today :)

Simply spend $0* or more this week at Woolworths supermarkets to be on track to earn your $0 Cash for Easter Gift Card.

  • Got the same email

  • The offer Both my wife and I is to spend $50X3 and get $50 in gift card.

  • My offer was spend $100 per week for a $50 gift card. I usually don't spend anywhere near that amount but we've got an unusual month coming up so I will actually be able to qualify for the gift card this time.

I probably won't get any good offers on my card for a couple of months afterwards but that doesn't matter as we have several other family members who have their own EDR accounts so we'll just use the better offers on those cards.

    • If I get an offer with a high spend, I just buy something that's expensive and return it next day. Just remember keep the receipt. Something like a frypan or a couple of Philips LED lights will do the trick

  • $50 for $50 spend over 3 weeks is decent, but most seem to be around that 10% range. Unless a lot of products you buy are discounted over those particular weeks, it's really not worth it for the hoops you have to jump through.

If you could top up Mykis at Woolies like you can with Opal, might be a different story..

  • We received offer Spend $50 next 3 weeks and get bonus $50 Gift card. so it mathematically 25% off on $200 purchase

Worth a go as we top-up or family Opal cards along.

  • Got the $50 x 3 to get $50. Is anyone getting any email to confirm they're on track?

    • I got mine earlier today at 12:31

      • Cool. I did get mine later in the day. I did my shopping online for the 2nd week. That should be valid as well.

  • Does anyone know how these gift vouchers are given out?
I've done my 3x$50 shops now, but haven't received any indication via my latest docket/emails of my $30 voucher. Any ideas?

    • You'll get a plastic gift card in the mail.

      • Ohh okay thanks, cheers :)

  • I made my targets easily for the 3 weeks and should get a gift card soon. I also got a bonus offer of $15 voucher if I spend another $100 before March 17.

    • Received a similar offer, spend $50, get $10.

    • I got this offer too but the gift card is not delivered yet. It's gonna be hard to spend it before the 17th if it hasn't been delivered.

      • Once it's delivered the card can be used until the end of June. The voucher from the bonus offer has to be used one week after the issue date.

  • Has anyone received their gift cards from this promotion yet? Since it's cash for Easter, I'm a little surprised I haven't seen mine yet.

I did make some of my qualifying spends on Opal top-ups but at each point after those the docket printout informed me that I had completed my qualifying spend so I'll be rather peeved if the gift card doesn't arrive. I notice ly0009 above got confirmation that it would NOT be a qualifying spend, so am wondering if anyone who didn't spend on Opal has their card yet and that's why mine hasn't arrived yet - because it's not going to.

    • Nope still waiting for my gift card too

      • oh just received it in todays mail, hopefully you will too :-)
