  • I'm quite confused by the title? Site shows $44.99? Coupon would take it down to $30.14 USD. What am I missing?

      That's the price w/ 25% off. It's listed as $59.99

If you apply the code above, you get 33% off instead of 25%

      • Correct :)

  • Good price for a new game but with the 1332528 different versions offering various DLC and all the pre-order drama, this will flop big time.

Isn't there like 3 editions on the internet? Regular + deluxe + PCMR?

And for DLC I don't know why people are complaining, TRS said they didn't want a repeat of L4D2 where a sequel gets released so soon after the original so they want to support the 1 game for years to come by releasing more and more content for it instead of bundling it into another $60 sequel.

I don't get the hate either. They have been quite clear, that unlike most DLC, if you don't buy any, you still to play with everyone on every map.

        • Yeah but if certain DLC monsters are objectively better it could make some of the games questionably one sided.

          @Agret:

Not sure how that changes things. IF a DLC monster is “objectively better”, then the only exclusion is that you can’t be that monster, it doesn’t prevent you from playing against from others that either do or don’t have the ability to play it because they did buy the DLC. The way I see it is that DLC is simply a part of current gaming releases. For the ones I usually paly, this results in players not being able to play together because they can’t access the DLC maps if they haven’t purchased them. This does fragment the player base and can have a negative effect for all those playing. At least with Evolve, everyone can still play together. That means that you can still play against this “objectively better” monster with any of your friends, regardless of whether or not any of you have purchased any DLC. The community is not really fragmented.

Based on the Beta results and their feedback, they are aiming for a very balanced game, so a DLC character is not going to rock the boat.

$80 on steam for a multiplayer only title, no bundle pricing for a 5 pack, plans for heaps of DLC accounted (evolved is a "DLC platform"), huge amounts of preorder configurations. If titan fall couldn't succeed I have no idea how this plans to. If they are planning on doing lots of DLC why is the base game so expensive? I thought this game would be 20-30USD at launch after playing the beta so was shocked to see the price on Steam.

      • $30 on cd-key websites (c'mon are you are an actual ozbargainer?)

        • Yeah I don't usually buy anything directly from Steam anymore, even during sales they are usually out priced by sites like Amazon, greenmangaming and nuuvem. Then of course as you say third party key sites.

The point is not really how much you can get it for if you are savvy but how much they are trying to charge the ordinary consumer in Australia. I mean I got advanced warfare at launch for $20 but plenty of my friends paid the $60 on Steam. Who is going to feel like they got their money worth for $80 on Evolve :/

heard this is quite a good game…

Tried the game in beta, liked how it played and loved the character designs. However I will be skipping this title due to the day 1 dlc and promise of future content being paywalled. I prefer the way left 4 dead was updated with content and patches without asking for more money on top of the box price, but now they are no longer with valve I guess they are free to be as grubby as they want.

    • Same here. I'm just going to sit and wait until a GOTY edition pops up, or when the whole thing gets discounted on the next steam sale.

Also, please stop pre-ordering games. If the game turns out to be crap, all the extra pre-order bonuses won't make it any better.

      • he makes sense thanks for the video.
