I think you mean it's a wired rear module unless you have a wireless receiver? The rear module comes with the home theatre set.

It does the job, I think it's well worth the $260. However, the lack of HDMI inputs is a problem, for me at least. I wanted to upgrade the receiver and keep the speakers, but they're not compatible with other receivers as far as I know.
