How can they say "normally" 160.

    normally
    ˈnɔːm(ə)li/Submit
    adverb
    1. under normal or usual conditions; as a rule.

    Normally they are $40.

    • +2

They're normally $50-60 I think. They're never the price they say it normally is.

      • +7

Charles tyrwhitt, tm Lewin, hawe and Curtis are all the same like this. Cheap shirts (alright quality) with outrageous rrp that they never sell at.

I am a tm Lewin person as their cut fit me best. I normally don't buy shirts until they're under 35 bucks delivered from them.

Just expect them to go at 40 bucks normally.

          Great article

Their non-iron shirts are pretty comfy!

  • Is there some sort of promotion code required to get the price to $40? The cheapest I could find on the Australian portal is $49.95 AUD.

    • +1

Use the link provided in the deal.

      • edit - removed, got the $39 working

Really good shirts for the price. The non-iron ones aren't really non-iron, but once ironed I can wear them two or three times and they still look fresh.

I have a few cheap Van Heusen shirts but I don't wear them anymore. After a few hours they look like I slept in them.

CT also pay return postage if you don't like what you receive so there's no harm giving them a shot.

    • CT also pay return postage if you don't like what you receive so there's no harm giving them a shot.

Nice, that's good to know. Thank you and thanks OP.

    • I agree with everything you've said, except I think they're non-iron if you hang them up wet after washing in a front loader.

You can't go wrong with them, as you suggested.

      • Yep. I generally describe their non-iron range as easy iron. Still needs a bit of touch-up ironing, however, no where near as bad as other shirts!

    • CT also pay return postage if you don't like what you receive so there's no harm giving them a shot.

I tried to find out this information on their web site.
They only mention being able to return for a refund or exchange.

I cant find anywhere where they say they will pay for return postage.

Can you point me to the section on their web page which mentions this?

      Thanks.

      • I ordered from them about 6-7 weeks ago. The package contained a reply-paid envelope to return them in. I was very impressed with their confidence in their product.

      • They include a postage paid slip with every order. This was the case with every order I've made.

  • I'm a big fan of CT shirts. They are normally this price. The non-iron shirts tend to lose their non-iron capability after 8-10 washes. The quality is really good for the price. They come with a return postage label if you are worried about the fit or size of the shirts.

  • Just a note that the return window is 14 days (rather than 6 months) for sale products.

Does anyone know whether that is 14 days from date of purchase? Given the 12 business days delivery time, it leaves only 2 days for returning the product.

  • +1

They always have these kind of deals. Having said this I've had nothing but A+ service from them in the 2-3 times I've conducted business with them.

Once time I ordered the wrong size and ask them for an exchange- No worries they paid for return postage and promptly sent out a smaller size.

  • The non-iron shirts tend to lose their non-iron capability…the shirts are never full price…there's always a MASSSIVE SALE……great quality shirts though

If you like a slim fit shirt make sure you pick extra slim fit. Their slim fit is far to baggy. There is also hardly any variety in extra slim fit compared to slim fit, about 80 shirts less. Really wish they would address this.

    • +1

Spot on, I have a "slim fit" CT shirt, wearing it is like wearing a Classic Blaq shirt from Myer. Nothing slim about it unless you're over 120kg.

    • So would you say their 'Slim Fit' is more like the euro fit on Van Heusens?

      • +1

I would say their extra slim fit is the closest to a VH euro fit. I own both btw.

    • I would say their 'Extra Slim Fit' is similar in fit to TM Lewin's 'Slim Fit' for further comparison.

    • I would say that "extra slim fit" is around about a regular fit, perhaps even a bit looser.

For people who wear actual slim fit shirts, I wouldn't even think about CT.

      • Thanks. That's is helpful advice. Saved me the hassle of ordering and returning.

      • Yeah, I got my 'extra slim' fit shirts yesterday. If it weren't for comments on here I would have just bought slim fit, but am pleased I got extra slim fit. I would describe it as slimish. Perhaps a bit slimmer than a regular, but not what I'd call slim (yet alone extra slim). Thanks for all of the comments on here forewarning me of this!

Overall I'm pretty happy for the price, but wouldn't have been if I'd just ordered slim fit.

  • +5

For reference for anyone interested. I am 187cm tall, weigh 93 Kgs, fairly built. I wear the extra slim fit, 42 neck and 89 sleeve. I prefer the cutaway collar.

    • +5

I think your shirts are a tad tight

      I'm 80kg, fair build with a v shape, and 179cm.
      I wear a 41 Extra Slim.

You're 20% heavier and much taller yet wear half a size above me…

If i was a manager and saw a guy come in to an interview with a business shirt as tight as a condom on their body, they would be sent back to the recruiter.

      • What if you were a recruiter and you saw a guy come in to an interview with a condom that was a loose as a TM Lewin "Slim fit" shirt?

      • +5

My shirts are definitely not tight on me. I also don't understand your logic, I am heavier than you but I'm also much taller, which would mean we have approximately the same chest size and hence would wear similar size shirts. If I was heavier but the same height or shorter than you, then I'd understand where you're coming from.

So next time, use your head before you provide unwanted fashion advice to strangers on the internet.

Lol @ the heated argument starting, hold on let me grab some popcorn

      • In reply to frostman's comments above…

        I don't agree at all.
I am also 187cm, weigh 86kg and I also bought the 42cm neck in extra slim and these shirts fit more like a slightly snugger classic fit. My main complaint is it billows around your waist (still too much excess fabric) and the arms seem like they are almost as big as pillow cases.

As a comparison, 42cm neck in a local market (US sizes are different) Calvin Klein slim fit shirts fit my arms and body type much better for a streamlined look which is still comfortable to wear.

My best advice is to anyone considering these shirts, go for extra slim if you prefer a more modern look (and not wearing a puffy shirt like Jerry would often wear in Seinfeld that billows at the waist) and size down. I'm going to try the 40/41 size (there is no 40cm and 41cm size in the shirts in question, it's a between size).

Also I'm not impressed with the sleeve lengths. I have three of these shirts, all non iron and extra slim fit yet on one the sleeve length is too short by a good inch, the second one could stand to be about half an inch longer and the third one is close to perfect. All the standard 86cm sleeve length.

There are other shirts out there that do a better job at being a "non iron shirt" but their fabric doesn't feel as nice as the CT shirts which I rate highly (fabric quality wise). If you wash and hang them wet, they look like they need to be ironed, if you put them in the dryer (low heat recommended according to CT) and then hang them, then you can get away without ironing.

  • This "sale" has been on for the past year.

Never the less, good quality shirts at good prices.

Agree regarding the slim fit options not being very slim - but that's just another reason to get more gainz.

  • +1

    excellent
was just saying I need some more shirts - perfect timing
love these shirts - much more that TM Lewin (re material, cut of both works well)

  • +1

Bought lots of diff business shirts over the years.. Tm lewin, Rhodes & Beckett etc some over $100. However, some of the best shirts are in fact the $20 costco Kirkland shirts., top notch material and build. Looks new even after 20+ washes

The slim fit ones are great for nights out etc

Unfortunately a lot of people get caught up with brand names/marketing and forget about quality!

    • good to know about the Costco shirts. i would never have given them a look. will now. thanks

    • Just did a quick google for Kirkland Shirts and it would be very surprising to be any comparisons to Charles Tyrwhitt, R&B and TM Lewin. There are also some other brands of Jeremyn St, such as Thomas Pink, all 4 brands are very high quality at a great price, and the shirts last a very long time.

  • Can't quite find the shirts for $40. I'm clicking the link in the deal.

    Has it expired?

  • Can't see the $40 shirts

  • link is working - just ordered

  • can't see the $40 shirts too. looks like the link has expired.

    • found it. don't click on the go to deal button. instead, click on the picture.

      • EDIT: got it working - logged in? dunno if that makes a difference, but finally worked on my laptop after not working for ages, and not working on ipad or android phone either

  • How's the fit on these shirts? I'm pretty fussy- I get my suits and shirts bespoke nowadays…

  • got 2 thx.

  • Quality of the shirts are good (material-wise) but the fit is definitely European - very large. Even the extra slim fit is very roomy. These $40 per shirt deals come often, usually a leaflet accompanying the SMH

    • Thanks for heads up. Was gonna buy one to try but can't be bothered with the hassle now. I am really slim and I don't think their cutting would suit me.

  • just posted a deal for Oxford.

bought some while they were on sale previously in store, and its cheaper again now.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182604

  • Out of the three shirts I've ordered, 1 was returned due to bad stitching. The other two are just barely acceptable, but the shirt material is nice.

  • Ordered two shirts…After reading a lot of complaints about their "extra slim fit" not actually being that slim, I'm not feeling very hopeful. Will post back once I try them.

    • Like I said, I heavily rely on slim fit shirts else they end up looking like a poncho on me.
I've only ever bought 1 shirt from CT online, it was "slim fit" but physically far from it.

So I thought i'd give CT one more go and order the "extra slim", if this doesnt cut it, it will be the very last time I order CT shirts.

If you guys want proper Slim shirts, try the T.M Lewin "Fully Fitted", that's the best fit i've found for the price. of $80-$100 mark

      • I find the CT extra slims to be similar to TMs Fitted shirts. But I am wearing a 14.5 CT and a 15 TM.

        This may help http://www.shirtdetective.com/charles-tyrwhitt-vs-tm-lewin/

      • I just received the shirts in the mail today. I noticed on the plastic packages for the shirts there is a sticker that says: "New Improved Extra Slim Fit - Now Truer To Their Name"

So I imagine the extra slim fits will truly be extra slim fits.

My only gripe is that the cuffs are not regular two button cuffs where you can adjust the width of the opening to suit those with smaller wrists…

Will try them on later tonight and report back.

        • Thanks for the feedback, hopefully mine will come in today

and im glad CT realized their stupid "Slim Fit" are not slim fit, unless you weigh 250kg

The last CT shirt I bought was so un-Slim fit, it creased all around my waist and looked like I was wearing a poncho tucked in

        • @frostman:
          hahaha

I too heavily rely on slim fit shirts and have actually found Brooks Brothers' "slim fit" to be perfect for myself.

  • Is it expired? Appear 69.00$ for me.
Anw, is anyone know the length of the shirt.
I am 72kg and about 170cm tall, What size should I wear? Also looking for some casual shirt. Wondering if its too long for put it outside. Thanks.

  • I also cannot seem to see any shirts for forty bucks, cheapest i can see is 49.75 multibuy…. I've clicked on "go to deal"

has it expired or am I missing something :-)?

    cheers.

EDIT: Now working after I logged in, but then logged out and still working….. oh well hopefully helps someone.

    • worked for me too!

  • I love the part where they say $49 (RRP $169)… errr no, CT shirts are nowhere near the quality of Rhodes & Beckett shirts which retail for $170-190 each

    • What makes you say they're nowhere near the quality? I have some R&B shirts that I don't rate the quality over all my TM Lewin shirts. Some of the TM Lewin shirts are not great quality, but others are easily as good in my view.

      • What do you mean by "Some T.M Lewin shirts" and "some R&B shirts"?
They're not hard disk drives where they come in different batches of varying firmware.

The "quality" of the shirt is dependent on the cotton, 'double fold, single fold' in addition to where it's sourced from 'egyptian cotton, etc'

When we talk about shirt quality, we don't just refer to the material, the bigger point is the cut/design.

        • Firstly, the cotton used by one brand for one shirt is not necessarily the same cotton used on another shirt. TM Lewin are classics for this. There is a significant divergence in the cotton they use in my experience, and it may reflect (among other things) where that batch were actually made.

To be clear, my message contained a rather prominent typo, but my point was that some of my TM Lewin shirts are of decent quality, while others are not.

The whole tone of your post is ridiculously patronising, especially talking in the royal we.

  • It mentions you both get credit if someone refers you and you make an account. Does anyone want to refer me? PM me if so.

  • +2

Also this link seems to work well for me: http://www.ctshirts.com.au/default.aspx?q=UWAAA%7C%7C%7C%7C%…

  • Does anyone have any experience with the Ganton City (slim) fit shirts, that can help me with sizing?
These are the shirts that tend to fit me best (the other being the Hardy Amies Contemporary Fit).

Measurements according to Ganton site are:
    neck 39
    chest 114
    waist 104
    Sleeve 86

Based on this the CT shirt fit that seems right would be the Slim Fit
    neck 39.5
    chest 112
    waist 104
    Sleeve 86

Does that sound right? I have heard that the "slim" fit can be quite baggy. I do not like a shirt that is too fitted though. I am not a big guy (5'10, 82kg). Are the shirts quite baggy through the arms? (pet hate)

    • Extra Slim arms are quite baggy on me but not as bad as bat wings.
Prefer Calvin Klein slim - arms fit nicely. I don't have small arms as well - bit of muscle and shape.

  • Grabbed 5 slim fits. Thanks OP. :)

  • They are normally $40. Even if you go to London and walk into a CT store most of the shirts are still their 'sale' prices.
