Buy an Air Conditioner Now or Wait till Next Spring? Where?

Silly me. I knew I needed one, but didnt pull the trigger to get an air cond during spring last year.
So, I missed the Fujitsu cash back, Panasonic rebate, free installation etc etc. Now, I think I want and need one now.

So, should I buy now or wait until next spring? Do you think its worth waiting? My plan is to get the cheapest one on the net and ask Masters to beat the price by 10%, but should I do that next spring or now?

I am looking for maximum 3.5kw, either Panasonic, Mitsubishi or Fujitsu, cooling only.

Thanks all.

  • They are usually cheaper in winter when fewer people think about it. Hold off if you can, you got nothing to loose, except maybe a price rise due to imports getting more expensive due to the AUD going down.

And, maybe at the end of summer merchants will try to move left over stock. The most expensive time to buy tends to be when it's hot. Same as the most expensive time to buy heating is when it's cold.

buy now, if you need it now, buy later when you need it later……..

Buy now if you can't wait; buy later, if you want a bargain.

      • Thanks,you are right.

I wish I could buy now at the bargain price. Buying without getting the best bargain breaks my heart :)

    • Do you think Samsung is good brand for air con?

I heard a lot of people said 'stay away from it'

      • no idea. just putting it out there.

I have 2 panasonic units and they have been great for the last 2 years in the brisbane heat.
