Anyone feeling like turning their respective other halves into the crazy cat person this valentines day?

Anything that clears out our overcrowded pounds and prevents giving money to breeders so they can make the problem worse is good by me.

Just make sure your adoption decision is a carefully considered one, no matter where you source the animal from.

Good thing about that place to is they have a no put down policy to.

    • -4

Yeah, although it's an unpopular opinion you have a good point. Why are we giving so much attention to unwanted animals? Just put them down (humanely of course) if nobody is willing to give them a home.

      • +1

Yeah, because it is OK to kill everything that stupid humans considers unwanted, as long as it's done humanely. There are about 17000 kids in foster care here in Australia, lets put them done too (humanely of course) since their parents are incapable.

You clearly have never spent time in an animal shelter, they all get a home eventually, given the right amount of time. The ones who are left behind gets adopted by staff or volunteers.

As for your comment lgacb08, cats are the least of natures worries, us humans are the ones who f**** everything up.

Why don't we just genocide the kids in Africa and use the leftover water to provide for the kids in first world countries. Our earth is overpopulated already.

out of topic but how is geelong now?
unemployment rate is high or economy still good?

    • to be honest I'm not sure I just finished tafe and have just begun the hunt for work.

      • Hmm but do you feel the town is growing or not? People coming in or leaving, shops closing or opening, more or less traffics, etc…

        • +1

In the city of geelong it's struggling lots of shops closing down. But outof the city in suburbs it is growing. Retail is going well but the trades are struggerling

I doubt it, judging by your spelling and grammar.

Nice, as long as it doesn't incidentally encourage any impulse adoptions :)

An "UP VOTE" for adopting older cats…We adopted ours from a gumtree ad @ 1 year old. She is one of the sweetest, most adorable creatures I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with.

Kittens are cute, but for grown-ups, an older pet becomes a best fried with the sensibilities of their age. I've always adopted from humane societies & the pets there are just so wonderful & (it feels) grateful & happy to "get out" & to have their own owner.

Please- if you're able & ready, please adopt during this great opportunity. If your area isn't holding such a nice event- adopt anyway.

    Cheers

(PS: wouldn't hurt to donate a few bucks or to bring in some pet food).

      Well done.

      As they say:
"Saving the life of one animal may not change the world, but the world will surely change for that one animal"

      • Thank you.

Our world grows ever more resentful & violent, but animals are oblivious. They are the true innocents.

Not only that, pets have been shown to help older people- in many ways.

Please- as a bump- get this out to as many organizations as you can.

        It means a lot.

        :)
