Where to Buy in-Ear Earphones?

Hi all, my earphones broke once again, i've been buying $20-30 pairs of sennheiser earphones from ebay for the last few years with the sound going funny after a few months. I mainly use them when i go to the gym so might lash out and buy a decent pair for around $100 or so. Was thinking jbl or bose ones, can anyone recommend a pair and where to find a decent price? Cheers

  • xiaomi pistons v.2 (or v2.1)

  • Xiaomi Pistons are good, but make sure you get genuine ones.

Meelec also has a nice range that's great quality for their price. They have some sport/exercise-focused ones (looping around the top of the ear so they don't fall out).

  • get sport type ones that mention about being sweat proof, that is probably your problem.

    • Yeah probably more suitable. DSE stock a range of Sony sport focused earphones from $30 to $99, probably OP should check em out.

  • never heard of xiaomi pistons v.2, they're only $27 on amazon, does that sound right?

    • Yep that sounds about right. They're great earphones, not that fantastic for sport though IMO - I use them sometimes when I run and I find the metal edges dig into my ear and hurt after a while of running.

Brilliant all-rounder cheap earphones that sound way better than their pricetag, but if you're specifically looking for gym headphones (and will use them whilst running/cycling) then comfort could be an issue.

  • ostry kc06a or soundmagic e30. i'm pretty sure you can get the ostry's from their website or dx, i got mine from ostry massdrop for $57usd. they both come with earloops and are perfect for working out with, it what I primarily use them for. the ostrys come with 3 different tips that give 3 different types of sound i like the ones with the orange circle. I have used both sets and they are both excellent, more so the ostrys they are both great bang for buck headphones.

check out the head-fi forum where you can find out all sorts of information about headphones

  • I have a pair of Shure SE215's. Great pair of earbuds that have a fantastic sound & build quality. Have had them for about 9 months without any issue. Will definitely be buying again. Tight fit also.

Not sure what the going price is now but I bought them for $110 AU

  • Shure 215 is great for the price if you don't want mic. I think Kogan has it for cheap if you like overseas stock.

    Bose and Bowers and Wilkins.

I have B&W C5 bought from Apple store. They do price match. It's great after sale service from Apple store which I proffered over a 10 dollar discount.
