Does it have the power to turn ordinary food into super food though?

    • Yes, don't forget to add 1 tbsp of the "super mix" along with the fruits etc ;-)

Jokes apart, it may help you consume good food like spinach, kale etc which you may not prefer to eat in raw form. Especially for kids!

I don't think it is powerful enough to blend raw hard vegetables (carrot, beetroot etc). But should work fine it you soften it first by steaming in microwave.

      Nope, it's only 300W.

      • I would say the blade, quantity, shape of the container etc are also significant factors. But yes, wattage does matter too.

  • time for a healthy breakfast ;-)

dunno, i think i consume a very healthy diet and, funnily enough, it never requires a blender :)

    • Lucky you :-) Perhaps you can enlighten us with your diet…

This is an easy and convenient option for those who doesn't have time to prepare/eat proper breakfast, and instead want something healthy on the go, rather having sugar loaded unhealthy breakfast bars!

Grab some frozen fruits from freezer, blend for 30 secs, just change the blade lid to normal drinking one… run to catch the bus/train :-)

      • hopefully not Hep A dingleberries

300 watt isn't powerful enough. It won't make smoothies to a soft consistency.

I would get something which is at least 700 watt +

Reviews say it is fine for the small bottle, for soft to medium food. Yes 300 watts may not be enough for nuts or hard food.
I am not sure making too soft is good, as the effect of fiber might be impacted.

Anyway, this could be the perfect option for you:

George Foreman 21820AU Mix & Go Pro has 800W and supports both bottle and jar!

        I actually have this
while its 800 watts and its quite powerful (can break down ice, frozen berries etc)
because its a 2 blade and also the blades are not sharp, it doesn't liquify harder fruits and vegies like carrots and apples

still I'm quite happy with it, just need to be mindful not to mix carrots, apples and nectarines in the one cup lol

Thanks for the feedback, I considered it too, but was relatively expensive and wasn't sure I would use it a lot. From personal experience, bigger the appliance and more attachments, the less it is used :-) Wanted a small one to leave on the bench always!

If it can't liquefy harder fruits and veggies, I believe perhaps the smaller one is more value for money?

Wow 2 blade? Isn't 4 blade system better for blenders?

          @bobz79:
yeah the blades aint that good
myer has them for 79, I got it when they had the spend 75 get 15 off, plus got gift cards from amex, so at the end it was around 50
so at that price it aint bad

I use it to blend frozen berries, kiwi, orange and water
that combo seems to work well

carrots, and apples didn't work well together, was very thick

also I recommend getting one that is slightly more expensive and also from a shop with good return policy, cause I have read a lot of stories online where the seals leak and u get a terrible mess!

we bought one of these at Kmart for $15 (the same but doesnt have the silver bottom, ours was blue) the 300w motor is plenty powerful enough for smoothies, blends ice up fine. No idea about nuts or raw carrots as we dont add them, but any fruit, ice, berries etc work perfectly fine.

      • Thanks for the feedback, I considered it too, but not very confident about the quality!

Note that the motor is only 250W.

Also I read in reviews that the blade is smaller and not very strong! Someone tried carrot and ended up with bent blades. Heard the build quality is not very good too (leaks, burnt motor etc)

That's the one. It makes smoothies fine. The power button is a momentary switch so you can pulse the power on and off to blend ice etc. we've had ours prob about 6 months, hasn't been used the last month much but before that it was used every morning. Half a banana, ice, frozen berries, few spoons of muesli and some yoghurt or milk, that's what my son wanted for breakie.
Of course it's not super quality but for $15 it's good, they had extra bottles ( I think 2 for $10) as well.

  • Try nutri ninja. It's works very well and grinds everything to a pulp
