  • Price (was x, now y) in title please.

    • Done, thank you for pointing this out.

  • I get a very mixed reviews on this product, there's a review website that gives very high rating about this product while another very reputed forum trashed this product down like no tomorrow, anyone care to share their experience with this product?

I own both this and a Dyson dc59. Whilst the Dyson does have more attachments, is lighter and more versatile, the hoover does just as well at lifting pet hair and human hair off carpet. I was surprised and felt a little ripped off with the Dyson. With both I only need to give one pass to remove surface hair whilst two to remove ground in hair. It even removes dirt after the Dyson and vice versa. I originally bought the hoover to supplement the dc59. However the main con about the Dyson is that it gets hair stuck in its brush whilst the hoover does not. Both give 20 mins runtime and have full charge indicators. My advice is to buy this hoover if you want it for floors, crevices, the car, and furniture. The Dyson is slightly more useful but is more expensive. If you are looking for more reviews search for morphy Richards supervac 2 in 1 (it is the same but rebranded in the UK).

      • Great feedback, huge thanks TScott!

We own one. We've had it for about a year. We've been happy with it. It only ever gets used on a hard wooden floor around our kitchen/dining/lounge open plan and it works well enough for that. It's not the world's most powerful vacuum and might take a couple of passes to pick up some things. We have no basis for comparison with other cordless vacs (like a Dyson) since we've never owned any others, but for the money, I think it represents great value.

So much so that both my sister and mother now own one as well and they're equally happy with theirs. My sister has also commented that it's not the most powerful vac but in the context that it's a dustbuster with a handle and not a full blown corded vac, it works well. My sister and mother also only ever use it on hard floors so can't comment on carpet performance.

I had read a few reports that the batteries die prematurely but we've seen no such issues yet. Choice magazine gave it a fairly decent rating at the time we were looking at buying one but clearly Choice can't comment on longevity of the unit. For what it's worth, we'd buy it again if we had our time over.

      • Sounds good, though I live in a carpeted unit, would like to hear more about how it perform on carpet, thanks for the great input though, your comment will probably help many others! :)

  • Can you pick up in store for this price?

    • Yep, I grabbed one today instore. It seems to be $89 frequently but a great buy at that price. I just did a run through the house. We have a border collie who leaves hair everywhere. With my old cheap corded vacuum it would pick up the hair but most of it would get stuck in the bristles and I'd have to pull it out manually and let it suck it up which means it would take ages to get the rug clean.

This one I had to do a couple of passes on the rug but it sucked all the hair straight into the barrel. I'm sure it's not as good at sucking dirt etc, but if you need to clean up dog hair or similar then this vacuum is bloody great for the price. And with a 2 year warranty I think it will last.
