Decent SMALL long-lasting power bank?

My daughter has just got her first phone on starting high-school, due to a complicated public transport ride making it necessary for her to be able to report in if missing connections etc.

Due to the chaos caused by her friend's "dead-phone-while-on-wrong-train" experience last week, I want to put some sort of backup power source into her school bag for emergencies. It must be light as the school bag is already plenty heavy.

So I want something that is as small and long-lasting between charges as possible, while the capacity is not so important as it is only intended for emergencies.

I've scoured the forums and deal comments and Xiaomi gets a good rap, but they all seem to be quite large high-capacity devices.

Not sure what's best

  • a spare battery (kept charged)
  • a $3 AA-powered powerbank with 2 eneloops on board
  • a decent quality rechargeable powerbank

Any comments welcomed.

  • Spare Battery - Cheap, and not bulky at all.

    • It's good. Good for around 70-100% of a charge depending on phone battery size. Lthium batteries can also hold up to 80% charge in a year

    • +1

Good find, sounds like just what I need, so I've snapped one up!
