Well, the community here can be quite harsh at times.
I've seen a lot of newbie posts (I know this isn't one by the admission above) where a newbie will ask not to be flamed, please go easy etc.

Oh my, I remember buying buckets of cable ties from Bunnings. They were inflexible though. Every time I bent one it just snapped. I think one colour was ok.

My older Kincrome stuff is certainly decent quality.
I have one of these kits - very high quality and I do a lot of work with them.
I have a Chrometech by Kingchrome kit which is their budget brand and even that is very decent

Got a 16 in 4 metric ratchet spanner set for $49, handy for the back of my 4by. Elswhere they are between $119 and $200+. Also impulse bought a metric 1/4" socket set with various bits etc in a kit, not too bad for what it is, $69 elsewhere.

The big $99 kit looks great. Going up to 32mm is a surprise. Usually these multi drive kit run out of size early
Just brought a 145 piece from Bunnings Underwood (still $99 - but couldn't find the larger set). Only saw one left after mine, but hidden down the bottom of the bargain box. : )
Yep just got one at narellan nsw.. might still have some left later today. I think 145 piece is still a really good deal

Deal was advertised in todays West Australian as well. Not listed in Bunnings online because it is a promotional item (so I was told by staff).
Bunnings Midland WA had a couple of 85 piece socket sets. Possibly a couple at Mandurah and Bunbury but little hope of getting the big set in Perth metro I think. Balcatta and Joondalup were still showing stock at 3pm on computer but phone calls to tool departments confirmed no stock.

I managed to score the 194 piece set at Hoxton Park, NSW. It was the last one. I was also told it was a promotional sale and was asked where I heard about it, I said nothing lol.

Just picked up the 149pc at oxenford, thanks wozz for the post.
One thing i did note was they had stuck the advert to the box and the 194pc set wasn't in it, but there were other items added.

Grabbed last 194 piece set in Artarmon. Plenty of smaller sets left on shelves.
Socket sets arent as good value as the Stanley sets of recent times here on OzB, albeit the good Stanley set is $50 dearer but well worth the extra. Brand name arguments aside. (most of the Stanly sets IMO are rubbish in content, not quality. But the one Im referring too is pretty good and mostly useful sockets (incl deep sockets) and some spanners, very few 'bits')
These ones appear to have heaps of 'bits' to make the numbers. I bought a Stanley set for my 4by, and was going to get one for my sons truck too when they next came up, but forgot about them and was too late on the sale a couple of weeks ago. So when I looked at the 194 piece Kincrome yesterday, I decided to wait for the Stanley set to reappear at $149.

Is the 105pc kit worth $99? Quality looks good but it's a far cry from 194pcs lol. Damn you bunnings and your stock levels.
Just grabbed the 149pc set from Belrose at lunch. They had 2 x 105 piece sets, plus some $10 items like boxcutters and clocks.
Maitland NSW bunnings has 8 or so, plus 20-30 $10 and $15 items. Also, there were some 1/4 and 1/4-3/8 kits for $49 and rolls of spanners for $69.
