Looking to get a computer for home use

Hi all,

I'm looking to get a decent computer, new or refurbished, at an affordable price (around $400?) just for casual use. Computer specs are completely foreign to me so I'm not sure what a good deal would be. If anyone could pitch in some opinions, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

There is a very cheap Intel NUC on sale for ~289 + shipping. All parts required for it to work, including Windows, is included into the price.

    The Thinkcentre M53 should be able to handle Spore better than the NUC.
    
    Spore's requirements are very modest, most modern Intel CPU's should be able to run Spore using it's integrated graphics.
