MH4U - 3Ds - OzBargain Hunting Parties

Hi all,

So, I said I was going to make some sort of group kind of thing for MH4U players on OzB so that we can help each other out and have fun with the game. The thing is, I have yet to figure out how to create a wiki page and as such… am posting it up here on the forum for now.

I've made a form on Google Drive… it follows the same layout as one I found on Reddit since it made the most sense…

Fill in this form if you wish to join =)

I haven't really played MH since MHFU on the PSP… I'm a little rusty myself… I mean seriously I got KO'd by a Vdrome twice before killing it in a guild quest… FFS T_T

For those of you that are interested and know how to make a Wiki for this… please help =)

Thanks!

ProjectZero

P.S. I have yet to fill in the form as I am currently not in front of my 3DS will do so when I am =)

Happy hunting everyone! Both in bargains and monsters… and sometimes both together =)

-EDIT 1-

So here is the file to view the information lol.

-EDIT 2-

Just so you know, I've allowed for editing for those with the link so you can change your weapons choices if you decide to switch to another playstyle

        • @FrankMcFuzz: Haven't got that yet… will try getting one… couldn't break the pincer that comes out tho… not quick enough =(

        • @ProjectZero: That's the mouth. You can't break it (That I know of?) you just need to hit the derpy claws in front of his face.

        • @FrankMcFuzz: Yeah found out I was hitting the wrong part… the stinger is on the abdomen… that's easier lol.

  • Ok guys, I need a little help… I went and got myself a scaly sword+ (finally have blue sharpness!) but because the blue sharpness is so tiny, I find myself having to repeatedly sharpen my sword just to get through to Gravios which I need to kill to advance the caravan story…

Does anyone know if the DB bounces when you are in demon/archdemon mode? Any tips on killing this thing fast? I've killed it before but it took a good 40 mins… more then it takes for me to kill a gore magala…

    • They don't bounce but they don't do much damage either. Keep hitting his stomach or his legs until you knock away his outer layer, after that he takes much higher damage. Also, SLEEP - BOMB!

      • Hmmm… was going to make a plesioth cutlass just for the fight lol. I know the bounces also do damage but it lowers dps since i can't follow through with a combo even when the monster is on the ground.

        • Have you tried laying traps and bombing? Otherwise yes, I guess they'll do. Or better still a good hammer.

        • @Where's_That_Cake: I try not to waste traps to deal damage, just because I try to always capture the monster regardless of whether it is a slay mission or not. I do have a palico that lays traps once in awhile so I do try and hitting that way.

I can't play hammers though, it's too slow for my play style, that's one of the reasons why I don't use GS either. I prefer agility over power.

        • @ProjectZero: Hammer can be pretty agile with the right user and setup.

Usually charge all moves to get into the action but instead of letting spin move hit 4, 5 or 6 times only hit 2 or 3, this drops you into a combo if you start hitting X.

As a relative beginner using DS are fine but you'll grow tired of then when you realize that the other weapons have higher DPS.

Anyway as for traps, I buy hundreds of trap tools when they go on sale for 100z. I often take 1 of each trap and mats to make 2 more traps in fights I regard difficult.

        • @ProjectZero: I can assure you that the Scaly Sword+ is enough to kill Gravios 1000 times over without traps or bombs. AND HERE'S HOW!

Do an X+A lunge toward a ledge. You are now flung up into the air with a jumping slash unique to SNS. You can do another slash before this finishes. Then, turn around, and do another X+A back off the ledge! With another free slash after the initial! You have just got 4 aerial attack in on the weak underside of gravios with no chance to deflect. He is almost certainly down now.

Keep doing these aerial attacks and gravios will flop onto his back, allowing you to mount the belly and break open the stomach armour, which can now be hit with anything as weak as yellow sharpness.

          You're welcome :3

        • @Where's_That_Cake: LOL an OzB'er even in games…

Yeah I will be switching to the CB for better DPS when I get to meta content, currently just using SnS and DS so I can plow through the caravan story to unlock the features.

          @McFuzz

Will do lol. I didn't know you can mount the belly as well…

        • @ProjectZero: And that's why it took you 40 minutes ;D

You'll be caught up to me soon at that rate. I spent all my money on a charge blade, so I'm doing realy old quests that seem to pay way too much for what they are lol.
