  • This code stacks with these codes https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/185571

    • Those are still active but you can't stack codes

      • It did work before, but it doesn't now, though I never wen't through the full checkout process before.

        • I can confirm that stacking doesn't work with Galaxy Tab S 8.4 at least :'(

        So no headphones ?

    Thanks trent86. Just ordered!

  • I hope buyers actually spend time in stores first to see what the quality is like.

From my experience, Panasonic is one of the worst LCD screens on the market. The name no longer means anything. Even when their plasmas were around, the LCD's still didn't compare but they've dropped off even more of late. Next to a Sony, it's like night and day.

    • Someone commented on this TV In last post and said it's really good, don't know if there are more in other posts

Hey, if it's better than my piece of crap soniq 42" from the November refurb sale… I'm happy!

Guess I can report back in next day or two..

      • Good on you, good luck. Do please let us know. Sounds like a new UHD model and a good deal. I have a TH-65AX800A and quite happy but it was more expensive.

        • 65AX800A!!!!! Thats big $$ .
Why would you even come to OzBargain in the first place… :p

I'll Come back to write a review here in few days!

        • @Myright: Great, please do, thanks. Yeah over double the price of this one and yet I still scrimp and save on OzBargain :-) Can't help myself, it seems like good retail therapy/constructive hobby.

I also took a punt on Panasonic and bid/won a new one at an auction in Sydney (apparently insurance reclaim from warehouse smoke "damage" but it looked fine though picking it myself with a friend was a real mission) and ended up paying less than the 1/2 the RRP (though that's always inflated) back in December.

  • Nice price but holding out for at least a 60" 4K Samsung/Panasonic/Sony at that price point, fingers crossed in a few more months or end of the year.

  • Are LCD's watchable yet?
Checked them out in the shops before Christmas and they still didn't hold up to my 5 year old Panasonic plasma?

      Plasma? What's plasma grandad?

      • Shut up junior, I love my plasma and I love my tube amps. All this modern crap has no soul. :)

  • Got anymore initialisms?

Ok guys, as promised, a short review.

I only just got back to Sydney after the melb gb last night and only picked it up today.

Ok, here we go.. The TV requested an update as soon as I plugged a network cable in and didn't get a chance to see what improvements it made.

The pros… Image quality good, smart TV menus and control excellent and easy to use, fast channel changing when flick I'm through stations, reasonably quick menu speed and response, great Panasonic app on Android enables you to watch TV on Android phones and tables, works good but a little slow at times but is a freaking awesome feature,

Cons, the motion is not perfectly smooth with fast moving scenes even when on max setting, the viewing angle is good however the colours are poor unless you are infront on close to head on to the TV screen, when mirroring stuff from my Samsung via the built-in quick connect feature it drops out during certain picture formats. I recorded 4k video at the Grand prix and it failed to play. Only 1080p works via this feature.
I haven't been able to verify how any 4k content performs as of yet but will try soon. I also couldn't seem to find Netflix on the app store to try it out or see of 4k works.. "bit of a worry"

Last but not least, the stand that the TV sits on looks great but the documentation shows a complete opposite way to install it on the base. "freaking pain in the ass"

Anyway, ill keep playing but in the meantime, let me know if u have questions or want me to try something

Thanks for the feedback m8. Let us know if you get the 4k working :)

    • I was listening to a US based tech podcast today and they mentioned Panasonic TV, the host has one of their latest and greatest (didnt say a model) but said what annoyed him was when you go to the Home area that has all the apps (I guess like iView etc) Panasonic insert Video adverts in themselves.
Have you noticed anything weird like that?

      • Gee, Nothing like that as of yet! Must be a USA feature! Haha
