Yay! Finally, TabPro 10.1 falling down to my price range again.

    • Worth the money??

      • +2

Depends on whether you wanted this or not. :)

If you want an Android 10inch tablet that's has decent CPU and decent screen, I think this is the best one to get at this price range.

      • Bought one from the last JB deal (same price).
Must say, havnt missed a beat yet.
Definitly worth it at this price point.

      • Is the Tab S worth the extra $170 over this?

        • It depends on your personal values.

3 gb ram, amoled, can take 128gb card

          Other things being the same

    • I bought one to replace my note 8 yesterday.

It's the same octa core cpu and resolution as tab s. Indeed i prefer tab s 8 for the portability but more expensive.

I would say its screen only second to ipad air 2 which i planned to buy before, in terms of color accuracy and clarity.

It suits my needs because i use a lot of Flickr and browse videos and images. The speed of opening and processing images is on par with ipad 2.

Battery performs really well too. With video downloading at background, Facebook and browser on the same screen, sometimes Flickr, it can last for about 8 good hours.

To me, i love its price point and the screen most.

  • "Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10" 4G 16GB $635 Save $112"
Am I missing something? I bought mine sometime last year for around $420. Yes it was on special, but I don't think the full price was anywhere near $7xx or even $6xx .
Actually, mine was likely a grey import.

This is the 4G model, perhaps that's the confusion?

      • +7

</idiot mode> yes, mine is the Wifi version … thanks for taking me out of idiot mode!

    • 420 looks like a reasonable price for Tab S 8.4… Those things go down to like ~390 (from recent DSE deal). Let's not talk about the 20% off ebay deal. I should've gotten one for myself as well :'(.

  • is the TV any good?

    • Its the one I've been looking at. Off all the display models in JB, the Sharp is always the one that looks the crispest.

      • Agree, better to check the model number and view the actual picture quality in stores. I had compared Sharp (sorry cannot remember the model number) with other brands such as Sony, Samsung and Panasonic, etc. The tiny lighting pixels on Sharp screen are not tiled in regularly which gives very little space between each pixels, as a result, the image may not as smooth as other brands.

The panel in my Samsung 60H7000 is a sharp panel if that means anything.

    • Just making a general observation, but at 4 star energy rating that's pretty low compared to other brand which usually stand at 6-7 stars from what I've seen.

  • any reviews of the TV model?

  • galaxy tab s 8.4" 46 16gb?
isn't that the standard price at OW anyway?

edit: now that i think about it, i think OW dropped all their prices so they wouldn't have to pricebeat..

  • not bad! seems to be the cheapest Tab Pro 10.1 going at the moment ?

  • I realise a big price difference, but what am I missing rather than getting say a Nexus 9. Other than stock android which I would prefer. Want to get 1 before OS trip to use TRS.

    • +1

      Vs what? tab pro 10.1???

nexus 9 is like $500 vs $340? for this?

im likely in the same boat - looked at nexus 9 but cant justify the extra for what ill be using it for.

      • I think the biggest differentiating factor is the ratio… It can be possible that Android tablets are moving away from 16:9/16:10 and moving towards 4:3 ratio (from recent rumours about Tab S 2 as well as the Nexus 9). So would you prefer 4:3 (more suited for reading/web browsing) or 16:10 or 16:9 (more suited for movies)?

  • Thanks, OP, bought TabPro 10.1 (had to get one delievered because they ran out in Canberra (went to check with the JB HiFi Fyshwick, all they had is the returned one)).
