HTC One M8 Mobile Phone - Refurbished

What does Refurbished mean? Item is 100% fully functioning. Refurbished products have been tested and verified to function properly, and are thus free of defects. Refurbished products may be unused customer returns that are essentially "new" items, or they may be defective products that were returned under warranty, and resold by the manufacturer after repairing the defects and ensuring proper function. It has been fully tested and is operational with minor cosmetic faults. Refurbished items and their accessories may display marks or superficial scratching that would be expected from normal use - these cosmetic flaws do not in any way affect the performance of the unit.

OK So I know with the M9 on the horizon the M8 will surely drop down in price over the next few months. If your impatient like me, this seems a good deal.

I've never been one to be fussed about refurbs, if you are then this isn't for you. Cheapest new is $600+ at the moment, and probably won't drop down TOO much (if the M7 is anything to go by, holding its value really well). Shame it doesn'y hold its battery life so well, or I wouldnt need to upgrade!

Anyway, never dealt with mydeal.com.au before, reviews are a little mixed. I can let you know how I get on if you like…

Paypal for extra security, that's my advice!

Also just to add I don't see the white colour much. Based in Melbourne too, I expect a decent delivery time, Oz Stock is a plus.

    da fuq is that?
    is this a scam?
lol thats not even the m8. not he m7, not the m9

    the icons arent even sense

    negging until confirmed real-

    • I've just paid, so you're scaring me now…Spec is M8.

    • Agreed. Photo is of SuperPhone2088.

      • I've no idea what that is, but it actually says:

Other names: HTC One (M8) S.H.I.E.L.D. Edition

Id be quite lucky if that was the case!

I'll let you know what arrives in the post…the money has been taken already!

  • Photo is of a 'SkyDragon, the first HTC One M8 custom ROM with Sense 7, Lollipop'.

    Same picture.

    • thanks I was trying to find origin of picture. that's put me at ease a bit..

No that shouldn't put you at ease at all

They used a community built ROM screenshot onto a fake phone picture

How the heck could anyone consider this to be a "bargain". It's a second hand phone from a site that has a shocking history on Ozbargain, multiple shit listings, multiple deleted for sockpuppeting, negs galore, and a ridiculous warranty condition:

This product includes a 12 month warranty against defects that are not the result of excess or careless usage of the device. The warranty period commences from the date of purchase.

What the heck is excess usage? If anything goes wrong with the phone they can simply say 'sorry, you used it excessively'. Screen died? Excess usage. Buttons not working? Excess usage. Battery blew up? Excess usage.

      You're using it wrong.

    • Hmm, well Consumer Guarantee exists for people like this! I'll see what happens.

They actually have some good reviews on productreview.com.au - seems hit or miss.

  • You're getting ripped. You could buy a brand new grey import that will probably arrive quicker and you don't have to deal with mydeal.

    • Can you show me a brand new grey import at this price please?

      • well i just did a quick ebay search which revealed http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HTC-One-M8-16GB-2-5GHz-4G-LTE-Fac… for $449.

        • So ebay is better than this website? (Not arguing, I genuinely don't know)

'Items can be returned to China for repair services for your peace of mind' - Not sure about that!

        • Well first off its brand new not 'refurbished' (which could mean anything really).

So you're expecting something to go wrong? Don't buy grey imports or 'refurbished' models then. Chances are you'll have a rough time either way (with warranty/repair).

eBay is generally fine - never had a problem and if paid with PayPal you're 100% covered. As opposed to this website, i've never had any experience, though from other comments in this post they're not too good anyway.

Though in saying that, you might receive it this week from mydeal.com.au in as new condition and never have a problem!

        • @beaver2233:

Yeah I've paid using Paypal now so I'm not too fussed.

        • @nickyd84: yeah don't worry about it then!

not a deal, this company is a joke by the way…. I wouldn't give them any money

    • Why?

Good luck is all that i can really say.
personally i trust ebay used more then that site who cant even put up the right picture.
I bought my used M8 off ebay a month ago for $270 i bought my previous Nexus 5 and galaxy s4 from ebay used as well and no problems.

Good luck to you though crazy amount for refurb though.

    • I still haven't found an Aus refurb for cheaper…

I would normally choose refurb over 'used' because in theory some kind have testing has been done.

Thanks for the luck, sounds like I may need it.

    looks dodgy

  • Is this a joke? Ridiculously expensive price

      Ridiculously useless comment

Op I would be cancelling your order or start making a PayPal dispute

    • haha a pre-empted dispute…on the grounds that it will probably fall through.

      What have I done!

  • Op I would be suing the company who sold this to you or change your bank accounts and citizenship to German.
