Looking for a Cheap Tablet with Stylus for Teaching

Hi,
I'm a teacher and I'm using OneNote with my students for their work. Last year I used a Surface Pro 2 (which is no longer available to me) and I'm looking for a windows tablet with a stylus. I'd prefer to have a stylus at least as good as the one that comes with the Pro 2.
I know the best option would be the Pro 3, yet my cash supplies are low. I saw that the Dell Venue Pro 8" was on special (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/tablets/dell/del…) and think this MAY work for me if I get the case/keyboard and stylus that can go with it.
Are there any other recommendations? Is the Venue good enough (JB have it on display but they don't seem to have the Dell stylus to try it out).
Thank you for any help.

I feel like I am self promoting a little, but in terms of stylus, Asus VivoTab Note 8 uses wacom technology as well. My brother had one of these and he broke the stylus that came with it. He bought Surface Pro (1&2) pen and it worked fine with the tablet.

Other tablets that I know that uses Wacom are note tablets by Samsung but I don't know how well OneNote works with Android. Though my lecturer does use Samsung Note 10.1 (not sure whether it is 2014 edition or not), so there might be an alternative on Android.

In terms of VivoTab Note 8, I've heard that there are some issues with the pen sometimes (around the speaker area), so I suggest you do some research into VivoTab Note 8.

Well the pros on these, compared to a Dell Venue 8 is:
    1. 2GB RAM & 64GB eMMC

In terms of stylus, I personally think Wacom is really decent other than the issues you'd probably know already (i.e. off-centre issues and pen angle). I've heard good things about Dell Active Stylus.

Though I think you are going to find these tablets slower in general, Surface Pro has more processing power and more RAM. If you can, I suggest second hand Surface Pro 1 or 2 (which wouldn't be too expensive, I believe) over VivoTab Note 8 if your budget allows that.

Good luck with your search :)

  • Probable good deals here on Dell Venue 11 Pros.

BUT I'd never buy one without trying it out for myself first. The difference between a stylus based PC that works and one that doesn't is enormous, and infuriating.

Found any Surface Pro 2s secondhand?
