  • Well hose me down, then up :)

Has anyone here at Ozbargain tried any of these and recommend them?

The ones I get from Bunnings, even the expensive ones, barely last more than 1 year…

    • I got the Ned Kelly kit a couple of years ago, and am generally happy with the quality of the sprayers.

I have had issues with the swivel connectors - I have broken 2 now. The sprayers are solid and heavy and dropping them on the ground puts stress on the connector, causing them to break. First time was replaced under warranty but I was warned it would not be replaced if it happened again. Our house sitters accidentally broke the other one after that.

We treat them with kid gloves now that we know. I would like to see them made with a more robust construction given their propensity to break with casual usage.

Other than that, the sprayers, hoses and end connectors have all been rock solid.

      • First time was replaced under warranty but I was warned it would not be replaced if it happened again.

Thanks, this sounds like a company I'd rather not deal with…

        • I should note in the interest of disclosure I was at the end of my warranty period so it may have more to do with that than anything. I should also note that the item in question has only seen a 2 months of general use as like a true OzBargainer, I purchased while the price was hot but not necessarily having the need, so it sat unused for 10 months.

I have no issues with the company or its business practices, only with the quality of the item in question, and not with any of the many other items I have purchased from them. The hoses, sprayers and other connectors have been top notch. In fact, I purchase a sprayer (and replacement swivel connector) on this promotion

Agree that the reviews are ridiculous - I did post a negative one about the swivel, but have not seen it published.

    • I have a hoselink setup with reel for about 1 year now, and it is still going as good as the day I bought it. Previously I was bursting fittings no matter what I tried (we have above average water pressure). I have both the spray gun and a super jet washer and really impressed.

I was hesitant to spend that much on a set, but I won't need anything else for awhile now, so I reckon it worked out better in the end. Also good not to have hoses lying around everywhere (I'm lazy).

I have 2 hose reals and they are very good but you can buy a generic connector kit on eBay and add it to your current hose.
I have one gripe with hoselink. As much as I like their hoses I had always been sceptical that all their products have near 5 stars on their website. Even silly little washers if I recall correctly have heaps of 5 star reviews.
Anyway, I purchased the new flow controller valves and added them to my hoses. Both of them blew a rubber seal in the exact same spot so I spoke to HL and they happily replaced them. This happened 4 times so 8 all up blew the same seal so they gave me a refund. I did a review on them and gave it a 1 star. My review was never posted and I contacted HL who said they had a backlog of reviews. I've done the review twice and it never got posted.
There is no doubt the service is great but the online reviews are definitely a marketing stunt to build the Hoselink hype.

Haha you're so right about the reviews.

Just had a look on their site and there are 490 reviews for a swivel connector and most of them 5 stars:
        https://www.hoselink.com.au/buy/swivel-connector/2740

So there are 490 people out there that love their Hoselink Swivel Connectors so much that they bothered to take the time and leave a review. One guy even left a positive sounding review without even using it:
"Haven't had much of a chance to try yet but seems to do everything it's supposed to"

I guess people are very passionate about their hose connectors.

Of course this is not to say that the products don't deserve the high ratings.

We still daily use connectors we bought 12 or 15 years ago. Have a spray wand that is also the same age …. somewhere, and still works find (or did the last time I knew where it was.)

  • the real hose work for a lifetime ;)

  • I wanted an auto roll one…looks like they are not on special. :\

    • 20% off Sprayers

      …not hoses…

  • With the all sprayers, looks like you need a hose connector https://www.hoselink.com.au/buy/hose-connector/2420
    Is this correct?
Some sprayers also need the accessory connector and a hose connector.

    • Correct, if you don't already have Hoselink (or equivalent) hose fittings.
