You need to have App of the Day - 100% Free installed first.

Only then can you download and install the Translator Speak & Translate free edition from the link (or via appoftheday app). The pro version will automatically be activated.

About the PRO-version:
1) you can select translation server. The user can select between Google and Microsoft servers. Google server additionally supports 25 languages

    Well it understood my very basic Japanese & spoke what I said in English.

    Requires internet connection to operate.
    Unfortunately the times I need translation is usually the locations where there is no internet when overseas.

      While it has the possibility to play any previously translated phrase from Favorites offline, supposedly Google Translate can work offline, although many reviewers say it doesn't. More here: http://techpp.com/2013/06/05/best-translating-apps/

        I got Google translate to work offline, you have to download the offline packs.

        However things like handwriting still requires internet, so I couldn't draw the Korean characters that I see. In the end I downloaded and figured out how to use a korean keyboard, but entering text was a pain compared to drawing the,.

        Similarly optical recognition from photos require internet.

        Having phrases already translated - offered by this app offline, isn't translating - it's a phrase book. But can be handy if you know what you want to say ahead of time, and some one can translate their response!

        I have not had success with Google Translate offline in the past.
