What does "Wire Control Mic" mean? I'm after solid earbuds with a mic for phone calls…

    • +2

Looking at the design of the headphones, it's what you want. It has three buttons - call/Hangup/play/pause button, vol up, vol down and a mic.

As it is made for android phones, the vol up and down buttons do not work with Apple but the call/hangup button works normally though (double tap to skip song, triple tap to go previous etc).

Planning to replace my Klipsch s4i that died recently - I would be ignorant to think these earphones are similar in sound quality right?

    • +1

Maybe but the old one was regarded as one of the best buy in that range for a $20 price range. It's hard to get quality cheap earphones that matches this quality.

      • True, but older model being good doesn't automatically make the newer one good. That being said, I bought one of these from other deal on OzBargain few days ago since I felt slightly adventurous and $20 range is not too bad in terms of risk.

if you have 8 of these can you make a v8 engine.

    • +1

You need only 4 pairs ;)

  • whats the diff between 3.0 and 2.1?

    • +36

      0.9 :P

      • +4

lol.. guess I asked for that.

        • In truth….these have just came out….not sure if anyone here really knows the difference between the two models yet. (I can tell the 2.1's are good IMHO)

  • How long does postage from geekbuying typically take? I'm going on holiday next weekend and I'm after a new pair of headphones for the trip, would these arrive @ Melb CBD in time?

    • +4

not likely…Chinese sites take at least a full two weeks minimum….

      • +1

Thought that might be the case but it never hurts to ask, right? :) thanks!

I've bought stuff from these guys twice and they took around 3 weeks ~ 4 weeks (though be fair, the first order was 10 days before Christmas and the second order was 10 days before the Chinese New Year). That being said, DHL would probably arrive early enough (though I've seen people complaining about DHL not arriving early as well on Ozbargain).

    • +2

4 weeks is a standard, give or take a week depending if you're lucky or not

      • Rep, please clarify your thoughts on the shipping time!

        • Free shipping typically takes up to 30 business days after shipping. All my packages from Geekbuying have arrived 3-4 weeks.

Any chance you could price beat? Considering it's kind of the same shipping time

  • Do these come with the Tie Clip like in V2.1 ?

    • Yep.

      • +2

Are you sure? In this unboxing there shows no sign of a clip?

  • Any one can compare those to VSD1/VSD1S ?

Not an audiophile but don't appreciate cheap SQ and shitty mic that I have to shout everytime I try talk on mic

  • Already an existing thread that offer these for cheaper
EDIT: if you want to post something that is a deal make sure to check and offer a better competing price

    • That deal has now expired and they are now the same price.

    • I did and that one is expired.

      • +1

Although it's listed as expired, coupon still redeems and still shows the discounted item to be $22.79 USD. So my neg vote still stands.

  • My Piston 2.1 set finally arrived today and you're telling me that there's a newer model?! GDI.

    • Yes, these are the new xiaomi piston :)

    • +3

I bought a pair of 2.1 and they still haven't arrived and you're telling me that there's a newer model?! GDI!

  • Thanks, Bought a pair

  • Anyone rate the sound quality of these new ones ? I'm struggling to find a review online at the moment.

Edit: Found this on headfi. http://www.head-fi.org/t/760847/xiaomi-pistons-3-0-impressio…

  • The old ones are better

    • errr… according to just you

  • Geekbuying is a scam. I've just been ripped off more than AU$200. I propose a permaban for [@Clear].

    • Myself and thousands of others have made purchases without issue, but like all stores, issues do arise. What is your order number? I can pass it onto someone who is actually employed by Geekbuying and help get it resolved.

      • Rubbish. You're an employee posting scams on OzBargain. Sending the same tracking number to lots of customers, then asking for additional shipping fees to 'Remote Area's like Sydney, Australia, then claiming to have delivered all of their orders when only one order was actually delivered, is fraud. Geekbuying, and @Clear, need a permaban from OzBargain.

        • I'm associated with an employee of Geekbuying and I post deals for them due to reasons like the language barrier. Hence why I have the Associated tag and not Store Rep. On my profile you'll notice I'm a Product Rep for ESET, I'm not employed by them, but I am a third-party distributor. My relationship with Geekbuying has been discussed with the mods. I'd recommend speaking to them if you have any questions.
