Microsoft Lifecam HD-3000 Webcam - $24 + $14 P/H or Free Pickup NSW @ i-Tech

10

positively reviewed budget webcam.
720p + in-built mic. suitable for casual Skype user I suppose.

sells for $24 + p/h at a couple other online computer retailers but this is ideal for me as it offers free pickup from Sydney warehouse.

Sells at JB for $38
MSY sells for $24 but is out of stock in their Ultimo & Kingsford stores. not sure about other stores.
Kogan sells for $24 but has no stock and cannot pickup
another site had it for like $23.60 but only offered courier delivery which killed it

I have this one and while the image quality is good, the mic is pretty terrible, the software is rubbish and it always turns on the LED when playing games (because of the microphone, but I'm not going to risk getting spied on, so I unplug it when gaming). $24 seems to be regular price at several stores anyway, so hardly a bargain. If it's not available locally, I'd recommend you grab the Logitech equivalent instead.

    • That's a fair call, I've got this one to and from memory I paid about $25 at DSE.

Wait for the next Microsoft Cashback program if you don't need a webcam now. MS LifeCam Studio (top of the MS range) for $16.

    • wait you serious about this? whats the cashback program? must be literally $100 :|

Are you trolling? What is literally $100? I do not understand you.

What was the cashback program, you asked? This is the cashback program, which was posted shortly after you signed up to OzB, and widely discussed, bargain-hunted, price-matched and voted.

he means that the RRP for that top of range webcam is over $100 so in order for that cam to be $16, the cashback would be over $100
(just translating his question, I Have no idea about the program as I wasnt in the market for PC peripherals up until now)

@edwinlin88: I am not going to explain how the Microsoft cashback works again. Read the original post for details. Here is the Lifecam Studio bought for $16.05 after cashback and how to do it. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/175625?page=3#comment-2540… (follow link and search for Jonesy77 or scroll to bottom — hyperlink to comments sometimes don't work in Ozbargain)

        • @alvian: no! I'm not asking u to explain to me. I don't care because I need the webcam now. I was just translating Kossac because you dont understand him

@edwinlin88: Sorry edwinlin88, but why should I spend the effort to guess at Kossac's cryptic comment when he did not spend the effort to explain himself with a properly worded simple English sentence?

Good camera, except for the blue light. Can be modded for IR.
This deal looks like its cheapest price if you need one right now
I only paid $7.95 on COTD (a few years ago).
