Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair PS Vita - $29 Pick up + 99c Delivery - JB Hi-Fi

110

This is the cheapest I've seen in a while. Usually hovering around the $50 mark.

This is currently cheaper than importing from the US.

Highly recommend this game (24hrs game time), but also highly recommend playing the first game to get the most out of this one. The first is around the same price at EB.

If you like Phoenix Wright, you'll fit right in.

    • +1

      Yup.

If ozbarginers had to choose between the two, please buy the first one.

    • The first one is still sitting in my pile of shame. I started playing Persona 4 Golden at the beginning of January and I just haven't been able to move on from it!

      • Interested in selling your copy? I can't find a local copy anywhere

        • If he's not interested in selling take a look at and see if any Eb's near you are selling a copy.

          Used at $22
          New at $29.95

Also if you don't mind waiting JB will shift stock around if you ask them to. Generally they'll only do it if the other store has multiple copies but go down to your local and see if they can secure and move one down to your shop (shipping to your store is free).
That's how I got my copy of Danganronpa 1 as well as a copy of Hatsune miku Project diva f 2 when theres like only 17 New copys of the game in the whole of australia.

        • No sorry. I intend to play it when i finally complete P4G.

        • @Scaregdearimasu: how did you get that to happen? I asked many stores and they said that they don't offer that service?

        • +1

          @fenetic:

I don't know why they'd say the don't offer the service. Just to confirm I'm talking about JB hifi are you because I don't think EB will do any stock shifting. Anyway what you can do is go to your local store and ask if they can find a copy at another shop if they find a copy ask if they can shift/request stock transfer of it to your location.

I find some staff unwilling to shift stock (if they find theres only one copy left as it is kinda a pain for both sides the staff your with has to call and wait with you on hold and the other staff has to look and find the game which chances are is on sale and if part of a huge sale will have to dig through a pile which could take minutes).

Anyway if you find the staff your with in person doesn't want to call or won't, what you can do is this.
Call any other JB hifi ask them to look up stock locations for the game and then you write down the names of those jb hifis.

Look up those jb hifis phone numbers and ask the games staff member to see if they can find the game (be up front and tell them your trying to find stock to get it shifted to your store since is has none before they search for it)

After they find it confirm price and ask to get the stock shifted to your store. They'll ask for your name and number and your local jb hifi so your store can contact you when its arrived. Most of the time the staff at the store you called that has the game will do everything else for you. You'll probably receive a call from your local store asking you to confirm the request since you didn't set up the request with them.

Also sometimes the store you called that has the game will say that you need to call your local shop and get them to set up the request. (I think normally the request is supposed to come from the store the games supposed to be delivered to and if you call another store that staff can't put in the request from their side and they probably have to call your store and get them to set up the request. so if staff doesn't feel like doing it for you they'll ask you to call and set it up.

So I'm not sure what your options are if the staff out right say they don't do stock shifting as in all scenarios you'll need at least one games employee (I think) at your local shop to set up the request.

Also I'm unsure whether your asking about DGR2 or another game but if it's just DGR2 just buy it from the online shop as shipping is only a $1 and will save all involved a lot of hassle.

        • @Scaregdearimasu: Oh sorry, I thought you meant EB, anyways it seems like JB does not stock P4G or Danganronpa 1

        • @fenetic:

Just because their website doesn't show the item in the list doesn't mean the entire country is out of stock.
Give your local a call and ask them to check country wide. P4G might be a lost cause as it's pretty old but DGR1 I feel like should have some stock new.

Disgaea 4 and Akiba's Trip vita are also both worth the $29 price as well. They've dropped quite a lot of the PS3 titles to $29 as well

Such as Fairy Fencer F, Short Peace: Ranko, Disgaea D2, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 remix, Time and Eternity, P4A ultimix (p4a original is still $39 lol), Akiba's trip, Tears to Tiara 2, Neptunia Victory and The witch and Hundred Knight at $20.

    • Damn…. P4A Ultimix for $29 is a steal!…….

….if only my pile wasn't so damn large and my time so short lately.

      • It's a decent deal hope theres enough plot there to make someone who doesn't like fighters enjoy it though.
Now that I have ultimax I just need to finish P3 FES, Start P4G, buy P4A and then I can play it lol.

      • Has your pile reached 3 digits yet? Sometimes I wonder if I collect games or play games.

        • +1

Yes…. Between Steam, PSN and my physical copies I would easily be in 3 digits. :/

The biggest problem I have is time. I have kids now and its become a lot harder to play many of the games I own purely because the content is not appropriate for the little ones.

I can also highly highly recommend this (only if you have played the first one, though), especially if your into Phoenix Wright, Professor Layton or Visual Novels in general. Brilliant and unpredictable plot progression, bitingly dark and deranged, and amazing characters.

  • Might just pick this up. Never really got on disgaea thought so might pass on disgaea 4. Thanks Op.

    • If you find you like this also take a look at 999: 9 hours, 9 people ,9 Doors for the nintendo DS/Ios if you have it. The Sequel Virtues last reward came out on the vita and potentially there might be a third one but this game needs more hype! Also it's made or produced by the same people who made Danganronpa Story, Art, everythings amazing.

  • Went and got the original from JB HI FI for $29 after reading this, plan on getting this second one if I enjoy the first.

    Thanks for sharing OP.
