BWS - Matilda Bay 'The Ducks' $29 Per Carton or 2 for $46.40 with 20% off - Not Just Newton, SA

290

Saw this at my local BWS store in SA (Newton) last night.

I did ask the person behind the counter if this special is on at all BWS stores and she said it was "in their system so should be". She did mention one store that was still selling it here at it's regular price, so can't be sure but it seems to be confirmed at this price in at least another store in Brisbane given michael_123's comment near the bottom of this thread.

If you go to the BWS website and look at the beer specials link, it asks you to select your state before it displays all the specials. If you select SA, this special doesn't appear in the listed specials, yet it's a floor display with a large sign in this BWS store, so it may mean you need to check in store or if you are ringing up, get them to scan it and check, as michael_123 suggests. If you select VIC for example, it does appear but at a higher price and higher again if you select NT.

Hopefully that clears up some of the confusion from my original post. Would be helpful if all the BWS/Woolworths computer systems agreed.

So, where you can, buy one carton for $29 or take advantage of the current BWS offer and buy 2 or more cartons for 20% off, making them $23.20 a carton!

Best before date is Oct 2015.

Enjoy!!

PS This is my first post, so hope it's all OK.

Terrible beer, but that's an incredible price!

the first 3 are terrible, then they get better.

  • Agree, tastes yuck, would rather drink crown

  • Any comparitive beers to know if this is for me? I suspect for $45 it will be fine.

Its a 4.2% Australian Pale Ale. Its CUB's answer to 150 Lashes.

      • But without the yummyness :-p

  • How does this compare with Tun Mid or Full Strengh? Tun is a BWS homebrand. It is made in US and when on special you can get the 30 cans carton for $29-30. Good value I reckon

    • Good value you reckon…Tun has to be the worst beer ive ever tasted. And im not a beer snob either - happily drink export, fosters etc

      • Forced to agree pointers… to me Tun tastes like carbonated rotten orange juice with a bit of metho' in it. And if you somehow manage to force a even just a few cans of it down without puking, the hang-over is killer!

take advantage of the current BWS offer and buy 2 cartons for 20% off,

    link ???

      • -1

It says 2 cases for $92.80, not $46.40…

        • Yeah I saw that… exactly double. Scanning error of some sort maybe? Wonder if it will work in VIC.

        • @GnarlyKnuckles:
Look at the photo. $29 save $29. That's why it's exactly double.

          @puffinfresh:

          Look at the photo.

That doesn't mean it's at ALL BWS stores.

          @jv:

I didn't say it did. But it's not a scanning error.

        • @puffinfresh:

So which stores have this deal? It doesn't say in the description.

        • @jv: Title + description updated to match OP's receipt.

  • Hopefully this is nationwide.

  • Listed as 2 for $88 on the WA specials page, and shows up as such in Woolworths online. $55 each, or two for $88 after the 20% off.

    • Can't confirm. The store near me only had 21 bottles in stock.

      • $55 each at BWS near Dalyelup WA

This is likely to be nation wide. Went to a BWS last night in Brisbane and whilst they only had 3x 6 packs, they confirmed the case price was $29 but wouldn't sell me the 3 at a pro rata rate unfortunately.

Also, the specials page here in Queensland lists the special as the higher price others have mentioned so just get them to scan it and check.

  • bought some…best before June is probably the reason they were $29…the other store I tried still had them at full price
