Been waiting for the M550 1TB to get back below $au500. Back when the Aus dollar was strong the price was as low as $us400 at one time.

However, been waiting so long recently took advantage of the Ebay Sunday 20% off sale and got a Samsung EVO 850 1TB.

  • Whats the M500 240GB for $72.99 like? Seems really cheaper for a 240GB

Would've been a much better deal if you grabbed the 128GB stick for US$30 (AU$48 shipped)

  • 480GB mSATA for $190?? How?!
    It's a known, decent brand.
    Madness!!

On another note… wouldn't putting the link in the info lower the "clicks" stat.

    • 480GB mSATA for $190?? How?!

Its been ozbargained !! Sold out !!

  • I never shop on amazon, how do I calculate shipping to Melbourne? and I assume the 128GB Lexars are sold out? now at $87? is 128GB even compatible with the hero 3? 64GB is US$40 worth it?

    • how do I calculate shipping to Melbourne?

Do a checkout, but don't finalise the purchase.

I bought two 128GB of the sd cards last night and shipping was US$5.11 for delivery by 27 April. Paid in US$ by 28degrees card.

      • Thanks for that, but it was cheaper than US$87? or that is the price for 128GB?

        • +1

          Shipping for one is US$5.05.

$87 USD is the 24 hour sale price for the 128GB. It's usually going for US$120

        • @mooboy: Thanks!

        • @mooboy:
Slight correction, moo, the 128GB 1000x cards were actually US$60.99 each during the Gold Box special

My order from From Amazon for two:

          Order Summary
          Item(s) Subtotal: $121.98
          Shipping & Handling: $5.11
          Total before tax: $127.09
Estimated tax to be collected: $0.00

          Grand Total: $127.09

        • Wow, nice price! I thought this was the Gold Box special still. I need to check OzBargain more…

        • @mooboy:

I was lucky enough to get the 128GB USB early last night for $30 USD

Picked up a Micro SD. Thanks. Will slot this one into my Note 4.

  • Dammit, my 480GB mSATA arrived today and its DOA. Except I'm not sure if its the drive, or the $5 mSATA to SATA adapter I bought off eBay.

    • Mine arrived today and it works perfectly well in my X230T. I would trust Amazon and Crucial more than no brand adapter form Ebay.

      • Yeah the reason for the concern was because the adapter is just a passive device, would be really hard to screw that up. But… yep, turns out they screwed that up.

I remembered I had a LiteOn 2.5" SSD from a few years back that actually has a mSATA inside. So I pulled that and tried the 408GB in that known working enclosure and its all good. So its off to eBay I go for another adapter and fingers crossed lol.

      • Just as a final update on this… The adapter I bought off eBay relied on the sata host providing 3.3V power to the drive on the sata 3.3V power pins. This is very rare on laptops, most devices only supply the 5V pins.

So most msata to sata adapters have a converter onboard to convert 5V to the 3.3V needed by the msata card. The ones I bougt didn't, that's why it didn't work.

        • wow, lucky it didn't blow your ssd.

        • @mily:
No its separate pins for 3.3v, 5v and 12V on the standard sata power connector. Its just that the 3.3 and 12V pins aren't usually supplied by laptops, only the 5v pins.
