Credit Card Rewards - Options for 2 New Defacto PRs

Hey all,

Myself and my partner just got approved for PR in this great country and are delighted. We have now started planning and credit cards are on the list as we couldn't really get them before due to temp. visas. We travel back to Europe a bit so though these deals may come in handy….

I have researched and looked at these but have some questions:

  • Westpac Altitude Black - 60K reward Qantas for $399 per year
  • Citibank Signature - 50K reward Qantas for $299 per year
  • ANZ Frequent Flyer - 50K reward Qantas for $95 per year

If we get them all, can we stack our points / miles?

Should we make an application each or do joint?

Any other good advice?

Thanks in advance!

current promo on the citibank one is quite good

  • westpac alt. black annual fee free first year here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/185666
    note expiry

  • You can apply for all of them, each for the points. But be warned that you may not yet have enough substantial credit history to be approved for them.

  • If I was you I would not pay an annual fee, quite often there are deals where you get 50,000 points and they wave the annual fee for the first year. My suggestion would be to apply for one card with no annual fee first and get the points, wait a few months then apply for the next otherwise as jlien mentioned you may get declined if you apply for 3 cards straight away.

  • What's the credit score impact of a single application?
