4 book bundle of A Game of Thrones. Each book goes for about $13 on Google Play normally.
This is possibly a combined re-upload of the 4 books by a non official author.

First time I've spent any of my $45 of rewards credit!

This will also work on Play Books app on IOS devices for any peasants out there.

Mod: Google Play has removed the linked item as it appears this was not a legitimate deal from a non genuine seller. If you had purchased the item you should request a refund. Moved to forums.

      Worked with a different account - turned out to be a google apps issue with my main google account - tried the other one, worked fine. Nice find too!

      This issue plagued me for MONTHS! I even added another Google account to get most of the good deals and freebies.
      Make sure country is 'Australia' in every Google product possible.
      Mine was set otherwise in Google Wallet.

        It's under the same author. If I could upload anything under that author, I could write my own story use his name and cash in.

        Does seem a little too good to be true. As mentioned the 5 book version is USD$16.80

        If somehow it's a dodgy / invalid product, Google might remove it from sale. This would also remove it from users' accounts i.e. those that purchased it. If you had already downloaded it you'd probably be safe but you wouldn't be able to download it to a new device from Google's servers.

          Just browsing the listing, it seems legit. It's been on Google Play since 2011 and the publisher is GRRM, with all his other novels and short stories listed too. I don't think it would be there in 2015 if it was dodgy, especially a series as high profile as ASOIAF.

    The first book is Game of Thrones.

    The TV series is Game of Thrones, Season 1-x.

      I bought and downloaded it to my phone about an hour ago, but now it has disappeared from my phone/library and purchases.

      From the listing in Google Play I can still 'Read', but that's it.

      Hopefully Google will refund the purchase.

        I was having trouble locating the book in my library as well. After some time, I was given the option to add this purchase to "my book", and it now shows up correctly in my library.

    Might be a bit suspicious. Lots of feedback about books not appearing in the library. Also, there's no publisher listed, even though the author is correct.

    Yeah there's something definitely dodgy here. The author looks the same but I think may not be. Mine has somewhat disappeared too. I can see it on my Pc (about 3000 pages) in a Web browser but not on my phone. Book shows as purchased but clicking read says book is not available.

      Seems rather pointless for a scam though. The payments go through google wallet, the listing itself is controlled by google, any payments can be reversed.

    Looks like someone's managed to get through Google's "stringent" screening process and is now uploading fake ASoIF books.
    I too was lulled by the low price, but if you look at the sample of the $3.89 one it's basically blank except for copyright info at the front.

    This is all a scam. Books do not appear in library. Other users are reporting the same issue on google play.
    Will request for a refund.

    Weird, because the book is downloaded to my my library. Browse through the book quickly and all pages seem to be there.

      I've asked Google to investigate why I can't read the book. If I don't get anywhere with that then I'll be requesting a refund.

    I suggest anyone who cannot read the book should request a refund. That is what I have done and Google have been happy to help out.

    It's easier to request the refund here: https://play.google.com/store/account
    Click the 3-dot menu next to the purchase and select "Report a Problem".

    Does it strike anyone as dodgy that you have to request a refund for a product that was removed from our accounts? There should be an automatic process to refund everyone who purchased it.
