[BNE] AYCE Buffet Lunch $9.90 Dragon Gate Inn Browns Plains

70

Found on facebook via a newspaper ad:

Starting from Friday 27 of March we are TRIALING an ALL YOU CAN EAT lunch for $9.90; running from 11:00 - 2:30. We may vary these meals each day and if successful will continue this buffet lunch.

See picture for further details of buffet policy (all pretty reasonable IMO).

Sounds like a bargain price for AYCE. Location would probably be a bit out of the way for most people though I think. Can't comment on the food itself as I had never even heard of this place until today. FWIW they have 21 reviews on facebook of which 20 are 5 star (and the other a 4 star). Nothing on urbanspoon as yet cos it's just been added.

For those as confused as I am…

Shop 3103, Village Square, 22-32 Eastern Road, Browns Plains (Queensland).

$10 for… if the photos and reviews are anything to go by, this should be some high quality food!

    • What in particular were you confused by?

Probably where the restaurant is located.
It's not too far a drive for me. Tempted to drop in to try it out today!

        • Ok just trying to understand where the confusion came from, eg:

          • not realising this deal is only relevant for Brisbane (tagged "[BNE]" in title)
          • not recognising Browns Plains as a suburb in Brisbane (suburb given in title)
          • not being able to find the address (links to facebook page and urbanspoon listing provided in body)
          • something else I can't see because I'm obviously looking at this from a "it makes total sense to me" perspective :)

On a different note, do report back if you try it out.

        • @quop:

I understood all that. It's just I didn't know WHERE in Browns Plains it was… facebook page didn't have the address listed either… anyway, I posted it up to make it even clearer for people.

          @kronicmacstigator:

          Hmm… actually…

          • the facebook page of the restaurant does have the address (and other contact details like phone number, general opening hours etc), as well as a visual map snippet that indicates where it is in the context of Browns Plains
          • the specific post I linked to also has the address - it's there under the phone number in the first photo attached to the post
          • the urbanspoon link I included also has the address and similar map snippet to what's on the facebook page
        • @quop:

Takes a bit of bloody work to get there… thought I'd make it easier

        • @kronicmacstigator:

Takes a bit of bloody work to get thereā€¦

          It's one click/tap…

          thought I'd make it easier

No question on that. I was confused about why you were confused, but I see now it's about being inconvenienced by that one extra step.

      • Daaaaah, no location quoted on the Ozbargain post. Nor the Facebook post…

  • Behind Bunnings.

  • Delicious food and friendly staff. Recommend.

  • Food was very average. Typical buffet stuff with lots of flour coating on their meat (chicken wings/sweet &sour pork). I brought my mum and daughter and the guy owner came out of the kitchen to stand by and stare/scrutinise our table as though my mum was going to hide food in her bag! She might be a small lady but she eats alot at buffets. The people at the table beside us grabbed twice as much but he did not follow them around. I was severely offended by it and will definitely not be back.
