It is little wonder these group buying site all but died overnight… could have been a big thing if there was proper screening of all the dodgy businesses that ruined the concept.

I am not going to make any jokes here , as this topic is really no laughing matter.
Apart from the obvious side effect of condoms that are faulty (let alone FAKE),there are much,much more serious consequences that WILL see a massive class action toward Groupon (and when this all becomes VERY public,it will happen).All those who bought these will find out and be forced to run like hell to their GP for HIV testing (the longest,most mindbendingly agonising wait you will ever endure)as well as all the counseling,explaining to family , nasty meds they will give you etc that goes with such an incident.
Myself and many of my family work in the health system,and my brother in law has done this wait once , many years ago ,after being stuck by a needle at work because of some stupid idiot's lazy attitude to walking a few steps to a sharps container…and instead saw fit to put it in a plastic bag being used as a bin,which he emptied.You can guess the rest.But not just that,any one of the STI's that can effectively ruin your life could have been potentially given free reign into your body,with no cure available….NICE.And finally,it's all funny "dodging a bullet" with pregnancy in your 20's,but not so much in your 30's when you actually DO want a child and an incident like this has given you Chlamydia (or ANY NUMBER of diseases that will permanently affect your fertility) and you have been unaware of it and not treated it (therefore spreading it like the flu).
And yep,i can see a tiny,tiny speck of the humour (CHEAPSKATES,IF YOU WANT TO SAVE MONEY ON YOUR CONTRACEPTION,YOU BEST PREP FOR CHILDRAISING AND ALL THAT WILL COST YOU,then maybe $20 for a box of condoms won't seem so bad after all)…but as a nurse working in Women & Children's health (therefore by association , sexual health) i see more of the extremely serious " a public announcement needs to be made " side to all this.You are correct, there is a very serious side to this. I was speaking to people last night who all agreed that there are serious health and legal ramifications.
This is not going to go well for Groupon.

Dabbled in group buying when all these companies launched in OZ and every single one of them was terrible. Chasing up, no products received and good luck trying to get a refund.
I gave up after the $5 Haviana s (c) andel affair…they sold tens of thousands but looks like they only had a few boxes of stock.
Not really surprised. If you go for the lowest believable price through suppliers, this is bound to happen

The condoms may be counterfeit products with defects such as holes in the latex.
