  • Any deals on Americano pods?

    • Sorry but no

  • Any idea of the quality of this machine?

    • I've been using it for a year and everything is perfect till now

    • I have one machine at my work and one at home. I haven't had a problem with either.

The main thing is to find a flavour that you like. I'm not a fan of the "latte macchiato" but I like "cafe au lait". You also get a lot of capsules in the "cafe au lait" (16) which makes it good value. Maybe that's why I like them?!

My wife loves "latte macchiato" and hates "cafe au lait". So there you go.

I think they come with two year warranty. If the machines last that long I'll be very happy.

I got both of mine for $49 each as part of Mothers Day sale at Coles last year.

      Hope this helps.

It's a pod machine, so it will always be
    1) inferior in taste to
    2) produce more rubbish than and
    3) cost more over its life than an auto grinding machine

    • +2

How much is an auto grinding machine?

      • -2

        Kogan did theirs for $350

      • Per cup, a few cents, vs 50-60c per cup for pods.

        • How much upfront?

  • How does this compare to the other nespressos?

    • I'd say you can find Dolce Gusto pods easily in supermarket. For other nespressos, to my knowledge, you have to order it online and wait for a few days. Also, you can make Nestea, which is ice tea, by using this machine

They have 15 flavours now.. you say!!!! you forgot the "Muuuuhhaaahahahahahah!(evil laugh)

Evil corporations trying to RID of the MILO tins, BAGs of NESTEA, Cans of flavored Quicks, etc etc off our grocery shelves!!!!!!
For the old enoughs like I who have witnessed it all… they start off by downsizing things ex. 500g to 495g, 380g, 300g, 280g, 160g, 90g, 60g, 20gram freakin single serve tubes, then they are GONE from the shelves. Then resurface as… the EVIL 5g POD !!!!! Always wondered whats happened to the 400grams JAFFA CHOC powder mix from our shelves?????? Hell.. I saw it @ an Aldi store as Expressi Choc orange pods!!!!

Evil coporations reprogramming users from using teaspoons/spoons for scooping powdered mix drinks. Hell I like to eat an extra spoonful of milo.. u can't do that with a damn POD (well i guess u can stick a staw into one and start sniffing it for an extra choc fix)!

Evil corporations cashgrabs.. more $ for less with the expense of cutting 1 or 2 steps from the method… mug, milk, can of milo, open can of milo, scoop, etc, etc.

Evil corporations.. all about the $ with the hidden expense of destroying the earth with environmentally unfriendly landfills!

        enough said…

really pisses me off with your argument… our machine… ".. you can make nestea"

Heck I've been doing that without the need for a POD MACHINE!!! Hot - I boil water, get a mug, scoop the amount of Nestea powder, then mix, drink. Cold - I get a glass with cold water, i scoop the nestea powder i need, mix, then drink!

PS: Say since you are associated with… Nescafe?, does that mean your robots fill the pods with a teaspoonful of Nescafe blen 45 instant? 3 teaspoon full for short black?

What does this rant have to do with the deal? Save it for a forum post.

        • @krouton24:

POD system arent really a deal such as this. They are just like the concept of cheapo Printers. You spend peanuts on a compact printer and end up buying thousands of $ on Toners. It is a well marketed ploy with the illusion to make it .. ohh so simple.

well you are half right.. it could be better suited in the forum POD system rant. it just kinda hit me when the OP said ours can make nestea… its just a Plastic POD with a couple teaspoons of nestea powder.

I just hope the makers of Nestea doesn't start making their own POD machines and remove their tea mixes out of the shelves and put it on PODS.

        • @j03:
Did I say "OURS"? I don't know what are you thinking. I got the discount from my friends and post it on here to share with others. I use this user name since I had to have one to post the discount. I am not part of the business, and I don't care how many they sold. You can have your choice, I don't really care. Everyone makes there own choice. Like Krounton25 said'save your rant' dude, I don't owe you anything.

        • @j03: fair enough but regardless of if this is a cheap way of making coffee (or tea) it's been posted as bargain for this machine not POD systems in general.

the dolce gusto has flavor coffee like mocha, cap, etc where else the other nespressos only pure coffee with different strength.
the dolce gusto pods are different sizes compare to nespresso.

you can find compatible pods for the nespresso at Coles/Woolies. So far, i have not found any compatible pods for Dolce Gusto yet.

    • Horrible, I bought one for my dad when it was on special last year and refunded it straight away on the same day after the first cup. Decided to spend a bit more to get the nespresso and it's a big improvement.

      • thanks..i guess its worth putting in that extra money..

    These are horrendous

  • the biggest limitation is the selection of pods. I own one, but don't use it anymore due to the limited selection. If they opened it up to people to licence their pod design, that'd be great

    • that's true. This is why I was surprised that this time they start offering a lot of new products. They have 15 flavours now, from espresso to hot choc and nestea.

i drink short blacks, there isn't a huge amount of flavour variation for me vs say a Nespresso system with about 20 different pods in their range + all the other "aftermarket" pods.

I think these machines are best suited to the rare coffee drinker or someone who wants to be able to serve coffee/hot choc/chai lattes etc.. to visitors when entertaining. A caffeine enthusiast isn't going to be the target market

        • There is a nespresso at work and happy with coffee quality.i drink coffee everyday ( work and home).. I guess its worth putting in $ towards nespresso

  • I own one (Mini Me) and one Cafitalia (Woolies) coffee machine. I use frequently these machines and Aldi coffee machine at work.
Aldi and Woolies one comparable, price, taste and flavor.
Coles has been selling the Nescafe Automatic Coffee Machine (Mini Me) for some years now as little as $39… I haven't used much this coffee machine because of poor taste, highly priced pots comparison to others….
    I will suggest DON'T BUY…
