People Buying Carton of Bottle Water

Maybe I am too stingy but I don't understand why people buying carton of bottle water.

I don't have problem buying bottle water on the go but why do we need to pile the carton at home. Unless we don't drink tap water at all the intake of bottle purified / mineral water won't have any impact on the health.

Lots of reasons I can think of. I know some people who live in a rural property with no access to town water but works in the city. They buy bottled water all the time. The upside for them is that they never have to pay water rates.

I keep bottled water and canned food at home and refresh them from time to time, for the just in case scenario, some might say I am paranoid, but living in Brisbane, you never know what might happen with the weather.

Also, some people might buy bottled water for camping, outdoor marketing campaigns, construction projects, the list goes on.

    • Yes, there are lots of reasons why the people buy carton of bottle water. They do as per their need.

We buy bottled water in cartons only when on special. Freeze them for a day out at the theme parks and toss them after. Terrible for the environment but after a long day out on our feet the last thing we want to do when we get home is washing up. The cost of water at those places is ridiculous.

  • I've purchased bottled water for about a year now. There was a lot of heavy construction in my area a while back and the water quality was inconsistent which lead me to drinking bottled water, I've now gotten into the habit and have yet to drink tap water again.

I buy them purely for the bottle, I have kids and glasses are not that safe when they are running around. So I throw 5-6 in the fridge and that way I also know how much I have drank for that day. I don't know how the bottles seem to disappear so I buy another carton every few months when I run out

    • I agree with you dear. bcoz I do the same.

ibuy them for the bottles - 24 bottles for $6 is better than $10 for one refillable bottle.
We refill the bottles for a while, the bottles slowly disappear/get lost/thrown out then 6 months later another $6 worth.
When we take these bottles to sports games etc it doesnt matter if we throw them out and we have saved $4 by not having to buy one at the sports ground.

Yep, exactly the same as you. Refill them from the tap for a month or two then throw them away. Much better than being on the go and having to pay $4 at a servo. Whenever we leave the house we take 1 or 2 bottles straight from the fridge into the car… saves you buying a drink if you're out at the shops and you want to stop for lunch too.

I buy a slab once a year and freeze them for camping. Some get drunk after they melt, some get refrozen for the next trip. Cheaper and more useful than "freezer" blocks.
I take a tap water drink bottle when I go out and I make my kids do the same.

We buy those (multiple cartons!) to help friends organise their budget wedding. Yes there are still soft drinks and juice etc for the reception in the park but there are always people who prefer plain old water.

  • central coast nsw water smells of chlorine and can be white or brown on some days …..

  • I'd rather drink from my carton of bottled water rather than my bathtub if the water is cut off from a weather emergency or construction.

been answered many many many times before

ironically i dont feel like paying $3 for a single bottle of water when I'm out when i have a dozen bottles of water in the boot of my car for $3

or when i pick up my kids from sports and they want a drink or they need one for school, get one from the car

or when i at work in regional nsw where the nearest tap is 5km away, yep, the water in the boot of my car is useful there

when I'm home I dont drink that much water since tea coffee beer softdrinks etc. is in the fridge

  • Always best to stock up in case of zombie apocalypse.

  • Galvanised pipes in my place
I could replace them at great expense or buy cheap bottled water for drinking
