So you only need to spend $185 to receive 2 gift cards ???

    $100 spend => 1 gift card
    $85 spend + 1st gift card => 2nd gift card

So you get $215 value from $185

    • +2

$185 = $175.75 with 5% off Wish cards at Cash rewards.

      • +2

        even better then…

      • It says on the link that the offer is valid in store only. How can you claim the 5% cash rewards?

        • +1

You Can buy Wish E-Giftcards through Cash Rewards at 5% off.

Sometimes they can be cheaper through Groupon or Karecard etc but can't say how fast you would get them.

I got cash rewards ones fairly quick.

yep, spend $100 and get a gift card, then walk back in and spend another $85 + the $15 gift card and then get another gift card…. wonder if there's rules about the transaction having to be done without gift cards…

Just has my first Masters expo. Bought a front loader which they price matched from $1400 to $1000 and I used my big w e-gift cards purchased on Groupon ($1000 at 7.5% discount = $925) and got $150 back in masters gift card which I then bought a 6 kg dryer for $349 - 150 = $199 (using $100 big w e gift card purchased from Groupon for $92.50).

      Items valued: $1749
      $ spent: $925+$142.50 = $1067.50

And received another $45 in masters gift cards. The cycle of giving back never seems to end. But it does here on 27/4. Just enough time to make another visit!
      Gosh pretty happy. Thanks OP.

  • Is this valid for click and collect and if so, are there any 10% off vouchers? FRESH10 expired today.

  • Not the usual exclusions on appliances!?

  • So how does this work with self serve?
Does the machine spit them out after you pay??

    • Likely prints on your docket how many vouchers you're entitled to, and you ask the service desk. Either that or they may have the person who checks your bags at the door with a heap of gift cards to give out.

    • +2

Does the machine spit them out after you pay??

Nah, they usually have a whole stack next to the register.

Just take how many you are entitled to…

  • good deal

  • Interested to know if the deal is valid if you're paying with gift card. I've got some wish gift cards that need to be used, if they get me more gift cards then even better!

Masters is a little desperate. Almost every week it's possible to get a 10 to 20% discount, plus 5% on PayWave/PayPass or 7.5% through Woolworths egift cards. It's ideal for buying items such as LED lighting that have a fixed price across all stores.

Burnings have more staff and more range.

      What do they burn?

    • +9

My shopping experience has always been better at masters. I hardly find any customer service at bunnings.

    • +5

Despite what the ads tell you, Bunnings is also very expensive for a lot of items and their virtual monopoly is constantly pushing prices up. I wish Masters did have a bigger range, but generally I can spend a lot less on equivalent items from there compared to Bunnings -

Eg. Ozito cement mixer at Bunnings: $439. 909 cement mixer at Masters: $380 (when I bought it, it was $350) - they are almost the same apart from the rebadge.

Even things like paint trays I can pick up from Masters for $1-2 (decent plastic ones), whereas Bunnings equivalent are $5-6.

If you aren't going to support the competition then it's only going to get worse.

  • just spent $220 today! After the 10% discount!

Too late for me but might be of use to others.

I bought a 8kg Sharp front loader at masters for $499 (RRP is $823).
    https://www.masters.com.au/product/100934901/sharp-8kg-front…

Betta Home Living (Betta Electrical) have a price match gaurentee so I went to buy it through them, they called Sharp and said the cheapest they can do is $750. Because they didn't have it in stock they said its excluded from price matching and they can't buy them for the price masters is selling them.

Even though I showed them it was $499 on my phone they didn't really believe it and said "if you can get it for $499 why don't you buy it there then?", its about 50km each way to Masters but I bought it online and got my brother to pick it up in his van while he was already going to be in the area.

If you get a wishing card for $500 with 5% off that would only cost $475.

Add $1 to the purchase price and get $75 worth of gift cards.

So it would end up costing $400 (if you minus the cost of gift cards) for a machine with a RRP of $832.

If you can find a 10% discount then that takes another $50 off making it $350.

I love this machine, its very well built and even at $500 I still feel like I got a bargain but I would have loved to have got it for $350 and saved $150 extra.

Edit* I think my math night be a little off, with 10% off code you would get 1 less $15 gift card so it should be $365 I think.

    • Is there a 10% code some where?

      • -1

I'm not sure, I know there is a 5% code for your first order that you can use a different email account to get if you are already signed up.

        • Umm the giftcards are in store only?

    • +1

Masters link for washing machine price showing as $649. How did you get for $499.
      $499 good price.

      • It was on sale in the catalogue and online for $499, it must have finished now.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

  • I'd assume this includes appliances? So its pretty good!

explains why masters is always so empty… literally have to throw money at ppl to come in to buy stuff, still have to end up going to bunnings cause it never have everything I want at Masters! Good thing at box hill they are neighbours.

    • +1

Box hill has been quite busy recently, maybe due to the clearance…

  • so we can price match and get the gift cards?
E.g. Dyson dc54 animal pro $948, price match to $840 plus $120 of gift cards? ~$720

    • +1

Gift cards used in next transaction though.

      • Sell'em..lolz

      • are these actually woolworth gift cards or masters?

        • Masters gift cards

    • Is Appliance is included on this Gift card deal ?. And also if they price match with other store, Can i still take this Gift card deal?.

      • Yes and yes. The value of gift cards will be based on the matched price that you pay not the original price.

        • can i use my staff card and then get the giftcard on the discounted purchase ?

        • @ravzter: yes, but you can't use your staff discount and a price match

        • Hi employee, I had the checkout chick ask me for my full name as well. Is that normal? She didn't seem to write it down anywhere while I was still there.

        • +2

Hi @Putnum: I can't see a reason why they would need your name for this unless they entered it on the invoice. It is not required for the free gift card offer.
Sorry if this was an inconvenience, I think some people take it a bit too seriously when they are at the checkouts.

        • +1

Or maybe she wanted my name because her husband is an illegal immigrant and they're going to steal my identity.. OH GOD HELP

  • Went to burnside masters to try and score the Dyson dc45, said you can only choose either the price match offer of the gift card offer and not both. Asked to show where it says that on the terms and conditions, said the price match does not apply due to the offers clause in "trade members cards and OFFERS". Just left and went to another masters down the road to get the Dyson + gift cards. Thanks op.

    • I also got the DC45. Paid using a $300 ecard I bought through entertainment book for $285. Bought some cloths for $2 to get $45 back :D

  • +1 on the DC45. Price matched with Harvey Norman for $298 and got the $45 gift cards. There were two DC45s left at Keysborough. Wasn't on display and they had to get it down from the shelf.

I just bought 8 boxes of 12mm VanGogh laminate flooring.
    https://www.masters.com.au/product/100964739/quickpro-loft-v…

Each box is $67.70 but with their buy 3, get the 4th free deal, plus the gift card offer, the net cost was $346 for $541 worth of flooring. Works out at 34% total discount.
