    Aliexpress 'is' Alibaba. Alibaba is for importers/suppliers/bulk busness buying I believe. Aliexpress was set up for public buying by them, I thought to cut into Ebay's success.
    Another similar place is Dhgate.com

  Taobao is way cheaper but much harder if your Chinese is poor

      I have only been using Aliexpress myself. Never tried Taobao. I noticed that some post office branches in Australia are now advertising Alipay cards (which is a kind of Paypal alternative). It is generally recommended that you use Alipay when shopping from either AliExpress or Taobao or Tmall.

        Using a debit card left empty $$$, should be safe as well.

  I only use aliexpress. 160+ transaction.

  I've looked at the other sites DHgate, etc, and apart from some freakish deal then they are never as competitive as aliexpress.

  Thanks we use credit card to pay and so far have not had a problem. Have used Aliexpress for the past 6 mths and will check out Banggood Tmart Dealextreme and DinoDirect. Any other recommendations or comparisons of price would be great thank you
