If you don't mind buying off eBay, I bought one from this seller for AUD$103.99. It works great.

The EOS M is a bit painful to use though. Shot-to-shot speed is shockingly slooooooow, unless I'm not doing something right!

    • If you bought your EOS M at or near launch, they upgraded the firmware since then (c. 2013) to make the focus speed faster… but it's still pretty painful. Make sure your firmware is at 2.0.2.

      • I'm already on the latest firmware. It's not the focus speed that is slow (well .. it's much slower than a NEX even on the latest firmware), it's the shot-to-shot speed that's awful. After I snap a photo I have to wait ~2 seconds before I can snap another photo.

Others have mentioned it here: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3374043

The slow speed makes it ok for shooting things that don't move, like scenery. But if you're trying to take photos of subjects that move like candid shots of people or animals, it gets very frustrating.

        • Yeah the shot-to-shot speed is sluggish. I only use it for things that are slow moving/still and single shots, so I don't notice it too much. (although I think with the slow AF speed my brain automatically accepted that everything would be slow the camera.) It really isn't for shooting anything that moves. The new M3 is better but still slow compared to Sony/Oly/Panasonic.

  • I wish Canon had a rangefinder style body with built in EVF. This lens is actually quite impressive and comparable to the $1000 Sony 24/1.8 for emount.

  • Sorry guys. I'm a DSLR beginner. Just bought a Canon EOS 700D early in the week from JB. Twin lens pack (18-55mm + 55-250mm).

Can this lens be used on the 700D? And what type of shots is this lens suitable for?

    • No, this is only for the EOS M system.

    • Your camera will only take EF or ef-s lenses.

This particular focal length is good for street photography because its field of view is roughly the same as what your eyes see.

Give a warning to all people haven't with Kogan before. You will have big chance not getting your item after long time waiting and it takes same long time to get your refund. Kogan is more like to borrow money than sell products.

    • It must depend on what you order. My friends and I have ordered a number of items from them over the years ranging from tablets to phones to wireless chargers, the most recent being an Xperia Z3 in Feb.

They've all arrived within their specified delivery time period, sometimes a bit earlier.

I was once charged twice (had something to do with me cancelling an order then re-ordering). I called up and got the charge reversed with no hassles.

YMMV of course, but that's what my experience has been.
