Jetstar start flying to Bali direct from Townsville from 2nd Sept And to celebrate the launch they are doing a return flight for as low as $141 return plus booking fee if not paying by a Jetstar Mastercard etc etc

Not much availability left at this price for sept, but plenty from around mid Oct.

Things you need to know:

Price Prices are quoted in AUD and are based on payment by direct deposit / POLi, voucher or Jetstar MasterCard/Jetstar Platinum MasterCard for bookings through jetstar.com. For all other bookings, a Booking and Service Fee of $8.50 - $12.50 per passenger per international flight applies. Fares are one-way, web only and non-refundable. Limited changes are permitted, charges apply.

Baggage Starter sale fares are one-way, checked baggage not included but may be added for an additional fee. Carry-on baggage limits have changed. Carefully check the carry-on baggage limits, including size restrictions, as they will be strictly applied. Passengers with more than the applicable carry-on baggage allowance will need to check in baggage, and charges will apply. More details on carry-on baggage.

Calendar Fares are not available on all flights or days. Direct flights available on selected days and times. Limited availability over public holiday weekends and school holidays.

    I was kinda thinking that myself, just cant see this route being sustainable.. Not enough population in the catchment area.

      Townsville has a larger population than Darwin and possibly a higher bogan quotient interested in Bali holidays. Their population is actually on par with Cairns however they would probably not get interest from cashed up inbound Asian tourists as in the Far North.

      As a Local in Townsville kind of right but we want better airport we dream of it CNS has one.

  can do syd > townsville about $300 return i just checked for anyone interested. so not really worth it for us sydney siders.

  ~$500 return with a stop in townsville could be good for someone that had to go there to see family or something.

  its a bloody big state QLD 15 hour drive from surfers to townsville. further than going back to sydney!

    Yes mate i done that more time them i care to think about. fight to Townsville Total rip off. i got my boss one for next week 700 return to Brisbane for 2 days that cheep i seen up to 1800.
