Juice-up 2200mAh Power Bank $4.99 (Half Price) @ Dick Smith

130

For the missus as she always complains about running out of batt, hence I bought it being pink(not that men don't like pink), compact and light.

Cheap enough for me to bite. Maybe others need a small power option to get through the day without lugging a big power bank.

Was about to place an order for a blue one.

Added it to cart, then decided to Google some reviews and stumbled on this…

    Bit scary!

One would hope the batches being sold now aren't the recall ones.

Anyway I bought one of these when last on special and discovered they come with a Lightening to Micro USB adapter which sells separately for $20, so I got a few more! I left one at work, one in the car and home an a couple of spares. They work for charge and sync and I don't get the Apple unauthorized accessory message. The power banks work OK, but don't get much use as I have better ones (using the adapters from these) LOL.

  • Yea that's a bit scary.
Checked the product, this batch is 9348166003789.
So hopefully all in the clear? Glad ACCC are on the ball. You too Wazzi80!

  • i bought a similar white powerbank from coles that would occasionally get rather hot (the cable too) when charging up my ipad. i personally would leave anything to charge on them overnight or unattended.

but the reason i bought two of these from DS the last time is the charging cables and lightning adapter. worth the $4.99 alone.

    • correction: i personally wouldn't leave anything to charge on them overnight or unattended.

  • The power of Google peoples! That's all I can say.

I'm happy about my Kaiser Baas 1500mAh purchase. Should be the right unit for my travels to USA/Canada.

This is really strange. In nsw with all the storms and power outages I purchased one yesterday at dick smith. And there is a sticker on the back casing, essentially holding it into place saying if sticker removed warrenty is voided. Now I know why. Thankfully power has been restored so it is no longer needed
