Samsung EVO MicroSD: 16GB $9.95, 32GB $16.95, 64GB $38.95, 128GB $99.95 + Del @ ShoppingSquare

360

Great prices for quality MicroSD cards, especially considering the falling AUS dollar. Prices include shipping. Shopping Square removed the $1 shipping cap a few hours ago, so it may be higher depending on postcode.

As always, don't forget CashRewards 1.6% cashback.

  • Does this not come with Sd adaptor like last deal?

  • I am confused. Are they same owner, shoppingexpress = shoppingsquare?

    • +1

Nah, different stores. I think TA means "@ SS"

      • +2

        Thanks :)

    • Shoppingexpress ship from Australia (last time I brought from them), while Shoppingsquare ship from over sea from my understanding. Some one correct me if I am wrong here.

      • Shopping Square has different listings for local and overseas stocks. The thumbnail for local stock has the Aussie flag and is about five dollars more than overseas stock.

  • sam sung evo.

  • +2

The links are for "direct shipping" which come from Overseas and take long time.
For few $ more, you can get them shipped from Australia.

    Eg,, 64 GB Evo:
    $38.95 + $1 = $39.95 Direct Shipping (overseas)
    $39.95 + $3.95 = $43.90 Shipped from AUS

Also, you could buy this one from reputable Australian seller through their eBay store (only $1 more for 64GB):
    $40.95 + $ 0 = $40.95 PcByte from Sydney

P.S. I bought one for $33.20 during eBay 20% off sale, but unfortunately it got lost in transport (money refunded). Just bought another one from PcByte eBay store.

  • especially considering the falling AUS dollar

True . Good to see memory cards still holding their prices

  • How are these for DSLR cameras?

    • -2

Don't cameras take full-size SD? Better to avoid using adapters.

    • Google it, I read a benchmark that gave the microsd better results than SD. Some of the random write was faster than SD equivalent. But you pay a little more for microsd. I think it comes down to SD are older designs while capacities this high in microsd are newer spec.

      • -3

It's the adapter that can be the problem (as manic mentioned). Some DSLR cameras use SD natively, better to stick to that.

      • Any time I ever looked, over the last x months/years… the price was ~the same. It was the speed options that were limited (with micro). Still silly-fast though.

Personally, sure, microSD with an adaptor gives all options. But I prefer not to get THE SMALLEST of something, particularly something I MUST rely on. "Horses For Courses"

if you have to ask, you probably don't know how to use the applicable features on your camera anyway.

Just get the one in your favourite colour.

  • I found the 16GB cheaper on ebay, AND posts from AU. 9.95 APUS, 10.70 Shopping express.
Only slightly more for the bigger ones local with gst. Not worth ordering from asia.

I'm after 32gb best price no fake and shipped in Australia

    • +1

      These aren't fakes.

  • Shipping comes at $1.95 for me on 32GB one.

  • Will these work in a Raspberry Pi?

    • Yes, any good card will work. This size suits the new model. Pi has no bios/firmware, so errors can cause boot to fail, rather than a retry.
Thats why a card might seem OK in your PC, but not the pi.

      • hmmm … I see people reporting problems with various cards. Class-10 may have been a problem once, but works fine in my pi-2. The "evo" is just meaningless branding.

  • 32GB is $1.95 for me
64GB+ is $3.95…. I thought all microSD cards were the same size and weight…

    • They were all $1 delivery up until a few hours ago. That's why I had to update the post.

  • I have a dcs-942L personal camera that takes micro-sd card. Is there any limiting its ability to accept a 64gb or 128gb SD card?

  • I've just got my hands on a GoPro Hero 4+ silver, and their (GoPro's) recommended cards list doesn't include the EVO range.
It seems to match the requirements (i.e. class-10 and 'U1', whatever that is). Anyone know of compatability issues?

    • I don't recomend using an evo in your GoPro… I have a hero4 Black edition & it freezes & has issues recording when using a Samsung Evo Micro SD Card. Stick to Sandisk Extreme for your gopro's.

      • Thanks for taking the time to reply! Does it only freeze when you record 4K @60fps? The silver can only do 4K @30fps so would be a smaller transfer. Dunno.
        I'll avoid anyway.
        Cheers.
