Received promo mail from Macpac. Halo down jackets at 99.99.
It was 119.99 till yesterday.
However, I don't find click and collect or check in store option on their site.
Might have to buy them online or call the store to check the availability.

Macpac are one of the better brands.
From their FAQ;
"Where is your down sourced from?
Animal welfare is important to us so we have gone out of our way to ensure we only use down which is a by-product of the meat industry. None of our down is live-plucked. Our suppliers source down from all over the world to achieve the desired fill power. The most common sources are Europe and China. We can also confirm that every batch of down is tested by the IDFL (International Down and Feather Testing Laboratory) and comes with a detailed report about its quality."
If true then this is a bonus
The down that goes into jackets like this is sourced from China. It's a product of the meat industry. 600 loft down is not going to be hand plucked from live fowl.
I totally agree that live plucking is a cruel and horrible practice, and the animal welfare of Chinese ducks are unlikely to be up the Australian standards. But to say that a product like this is from live plucked animals is not correct.

Why most down jackets dont have hood..
My Marmot has a detachable hood!
Most down jackets aren't very rainproof, and you're not meant to get down wet. So when out in the rain in cold weather you'll want a rain jacket over the top anyway, and that should have a hood.
Macpacs have gone downhills since outsourcing. Their gear is slightly overpriced for the quality imo unless if it's heavily discounted.
I would consider buying this if it made me look like Master Chief.
