Does anyone remember that crazy Ebay bbq sale a while back? Anyone know if that ebay user who was flipping them succeeded? TIA

    That was epic :D

  • I reckon he probably did succeed to a degree, cause I don't think he was technically breaking any rules. I doubt he made it to his goal of 30k though… and I recall reading some of his ebay adds/follow-up comments within the adds etc., and he had to do quite a bit of 'work' for his money (messing around re availability/ time-frames etc.). guess he must have had the time to spare, so power to the dude.

Surprisingly few negs on eBay feedback…

    http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&u…

    • Wow I hadn't seen all those before… 19 negs out of 240 ratings is pretty terrible as far as Ebay standards go; about 8% of buyers not happy. And some of those comments are scathing! So he defo would have had to 're-invent' himself on Ebay after that. Assuming he wanted to even keep selling on there.

    • I get the feeling he as a few other accounts ready to go in the event something similar comes up

Chuckle, which indeed it since has… I reckon you're right Chef. I also reckon he might have sold at least a few of those BBQs to 'ghosts', if you know what I mean…

Unfortunately, I broke the rules during the sale and is now forever banned by Ebay. A local shops had BBQs listed, so I bought them, picked them up in store and relisted them for the full price on the same day. I did make some money out of this (particularly so because I was not charged any ebay fees when my accounts were banned) but I would rather not to so that my and my wife’s accounts are saved.

I can now make purchases using new accounts but if I list any things, it will be picked up by their system and my new accounts will be banned again.
