Your choice is $40 off before June 30, with an upfront payment you have to give Groupon now.
or $32 off, use when ready, no upfront payment.

Can't combine the both. I'd say if you know you are going to book a property then use the deal but better off using the referral.

      As per Neil

Expiry on voucher and inability to combine Groupon voucher with referral credit makes using the referral itself more worthwhile

      • Especially for the referrer!

Groupon STINK - I can't believe they leave it to the fine print to state brand new customers only (note I did check the link).

Why do you think they stink? Interested to know since all my airbnb experiences have been far better than hotels whilst saving some money too.

    • Pretty common tbh.
Many companies leave it to the fine print to explain this sort of stuff. That's why as a customer you need to be vigilant to see whether a deal is actually worth it or not. More often than not, it really does pay to read the fine print.

I guess the home owners can add "Also suitable for…" to the description.

    • Eh, this is like the "fired on facebook/twitter/SMS/email" articles that always used to come up.

Something done forever was done in a slightly new way, STOP THE PRESS!

Trashing rented rooms, not new by a LONG shot.

      • That and this coupon is for people seeking accommodation, not those offering it. Unless you're planning a sex and drug orgy in a strangers place, I don't think the article is overly relevant.

Yes. Only an issue if you are an Airbnb host. We at OzBargain are sensible and reliable guests :P

In any case, Airbnb confirmed that this type of behaviour was extremely rare in their books.
